REPLACEMENT E55 Supercharger Drain Plug needed
Hi there,
I was changing the oil in the Supercharger on my E55 today and unfortunately I lost the drain plug down the engine bay. I've spent about 2 hours looking for it with mag. pickup sticks etc.
What a pain in the ****. Can anyone help me find a replacement one? I've checked and double checked around all the pully's etc for obvious reasons but I don't know what size or thread diameter the taper pressure plug (as it's known) is.
I have the sources to obtain a replacement one, Mercedes doesn't have it listed in their WIS, every other part of the supercharger, just not the drain plug!

Oh that's good to hear! I was starting to doubt my skills, it's really depressing trying to find the thing too!
I'm in the UK but i'm guessing if Home Depot etc have them over there, then they're just a standard size. I was worried it'd be some special size for Mercedes.
I've bought a couple of 3/8" x 3/16" so they should be here soon off eBay.
Thanks very much

Use the guide on this site to change the oil, "E55 Supercharger oil change", google it if you need to.
As for the syringe, as long as you have a small rubber tube as found in all sorts of stores, it's not hard to make a pump up. I found an manual air pump in Tk Maxx for a few quid which I did a little bit of engineering to, to make it work.
But if you google "syringe" just buy one online. Doesn't have to be 35cc's but that's a good size to use, bigger even might be more helpful!

Found It!
Air tools.. what a great investment, I used an Air Blower with extended pipe to get in there and literally blew it out!
Just in case you've done the same thing, (there's 2 of us already!) the plug is an 1/8" Taper Pressure plug and they're available on ebay.com and everywhere in the states. For some reason there aren't any in the UK.. how strange!
