Need help in replacing lifters on e63
Anyone change their lifters need help
Hi guys anyone replace their lifters yourself ,got a few questions.
From the WIS it shows 4 tools
1- M shaped holding device and straight edge ( tool 156 589 00 61 00)
2-locating plate for the front (tool 156 00 32 00)
3-safety screw for back of adjuster or compressing tool for adjuster(tool 156 01 63 00)
Here are my questions.
What tool do I absolutely need out of these tools ?
For the adjuster what is a safety screw?. And how do I know if I need this safety screw or compressing tool for the adjuster?
ThAnks guys

I have worked on the 156, and to my surprise it was easier than expected. (I guess easy all relates to experience). However, you will need all the tools except for the flat one that is suppose to slide into the rear of the cams.

Wow, are you out of warranty? Do you plan to replace the cams too?
Get an oil sample, send it to Blackstone lab, good luck.
