E55 w/ goods, Z32 Project underway
Car has always held the RPMs when letting off the throttle, it does hang a bit long IMO and at times I change it to C which makes it shift up.

I've had the Tcu tuned in my car for at least three months and I WOT everyday I drive it! There are no issues what so ever, I have also bounced of my rev limiter in M when I was drag racing at 6800rpm and again I have no Issues. Will find out tomorrow

I'm not saying this isn't a rpm problem but I have a set of heads getting redone now and the guy that is doing them said that with these low lift camshafts (.417/.418 lift) and the double springs we have stock it's not going to float the valves at 7000 rpm. These heads are built extremely well from the factory and that's why finding a good port job took exotic-55 a year because of the low lift cams we have to begin with. We're not dealing with huge lift cams that can cause the valve to get out of control with these cars if anything dosent like the high rpm in these engines it would be the pistons/bottom end. I'm wiling to be this was a fuel issue (lack of fuel). My car on stock injectors were maxed out so fast with only a 175 pulley and a few other things it was crazy. These engines were made to run rich and don't last at high rpm and lean

Sorry to hear about your engine. Curious to hear what your tech discovers post inspection.
I've cracked piston #8 twice on two modded AMG motors. I too believe its cause was fuel related AND inferior stock cast piston.
I've recently installed a set of forged MAHLE pistons (same pistons found in Renntech's fastest SLR) and the quality is second to none. My JE forged pistons cost the same, but don't even compare.
The 3 most important parts these motors need prior to any other modifications:
-Larger injectors (tuned obviously)
-TTM fuel rail
-MAHLE Forged Pistons
Correct the manufacturers weak spots and sleep well at night!

Thats not what he was referring to....I have noticed the exact samething and apparently its common with other TCUs. I understand I have a different car but I have noticed the same with my car. With just an ECU I was able to do a WOT pull and when the R's were up I was able to take the load off the engine by hitting the "+" or upshift steering wheel control. That would allow the rpms to drop while in DRIVE and Sport mode. Now with the TCU same setup in DRIVE when hitting the "+" upshift button after WOT there is no response and its only after the normal wait time that the rpms drop off.
Sorry to go off topic a bit, and very sorry to hear of the motor problems. Hopefully things get sorted out quickly and you have an idea later today. I Dont want to think of it as an RIP, hopefully a little surgery and PT and you will be back in the game.

i think this never actually happened and bruce is staging fake #8 problems so he can sell more of his fuel rail. buy stock in TTM!!!
sorry to hear about your motor. each time you blow an engine its a chance to bring it back from the dead better than whence it came....

Whatever we're tuning!
The 2 most active tuners on MB World recommend the TTM Fueling kit to all of their heavily modified clients. They are also the 2 tuners that found 25-30rwhp after just ADDING THE TTM FUELING KIT!(Thank you Jeremy and Jerry)
One member who claims to be making 530+rwhp still has stock injectors too and is the biggest culprits spewing misleading information to the entire MB World community. A couple of 3-4 gear runs in cold weather and...........you guys know the rest! RIP. The weather in the NE is great for DA but bad for unequipped cars. I wouldn't hold my breath!

I hope its minor too bro!
Thanks for the support man. I will take this into consideration if I need to fully rebuild my motor.

I will be recieving my fuel rail within the next couple weeks. If anyone is interested and doesn't want to wait for the rail to be done, I will have mine available for sale at full price plus shipping.

2003 porsche 996 turbo
so you will rebuild if needed and im guessing reinstall the same mods as before? selling the fuel rail that is on backorder sounds like a firm solid game plan

I will rebuild but I don't think I will mod my car anymore. I want to bring it back to stock specs I think. Well see how the damage is today.
