I went the naval hospital yesterday because my lil girl had a Medical appointment, came back outside and the car would not start. Just would crank over and over till the timeout and not even try to start. Do you guys think this is the CPS? I also replaced my accessory Battery a few weeks ago due tot he red visit workshop and battery light. Could it be the battery control module stopping the car from cranking? Everything in the car worked, radio and such but just wouldn't start.

I have an appointment to have the car diag for $130 bucks on wed but would rather change out a part for 85 bucks. I'm in the middle of a possible divorce and every red cent is needed.

Is there a CEL? This happened to me last week with no CEL and it turned out to be the fuel pump.

it had a CEL for about 3 good cranks after it finally started..then it went away

It's in stock over at Advance Auto on Pace Avenue. Probably at other locations. Not, MB part, generic though.

On a car that is 6+ years old, you can get the same exact part at an auto parts store, made by the same manufacturer as who makes it for the manufacturer, without the dealer premium.

The "generic" part is fine!

Yes!!!! No cel and nothing showed up on the obd scanner, turned out to be faulty pump and fuel seeping around it (replaced for the 3rd time).

so we can use a OB scanner to get codes? I thought it had to be with the star system? Please advise!

If you have no money and its the fuel pump, you can try tapping on the pump motor. They get stuck some times. Its best to replace it as I would not rely on the old one however if you don't have the money its worth a try

I have money..jsut I want to hold onto it in-case this turns to a nasty divorce child custody battle. Kid comes before car every time

Hope the divorce works out OK for you especially if their is a kid involved.
You might want to keep the car under the weather during the divorce !!
This way the wife won't want to take that along with the shirt off your back and everything else !!

Just go to any auto parts store and get the best obd II scanner you can.

OK it was the CPS and I got my $18.95 one in the mail today and 10 mins later it was installed and the car is running like a champ!
