It is entirely possible either way but I can tell you for sure that the stock exh manifolds are going to be a huge problem for making top end power one way or the other. The way your setup is laid out I would at least try some kleeman mids. The 55 manifolds have the same outlet diameter as my stock manifolds on my car. I think it is 1.6- inches. When I went to headers and a 2.5 inch collector my dyno graph went from looking like yours to continuing up the rest of the rpm range. THat is with a blower but same problem. Air flow.

Tell that to the LS boys making 1500+ hp through stock cast iron truck manifolds with less than a 2" outlet.
You're right that there's power to be gained from a nicely engineered tubular header system but those manifolds are 100% not the reason Chawkins is nosing power over at barely 500 whp.

craig are you getting tials? wish you got 46mm precision w/g instead. thats what i used on my 3071 turbos and came rec. from garth. they are a true 46mm w/g
i don't know if you can run emap (exhaust manifold absolute pressure) sensors on your setup but i run a sensor on each side to watch back pressure into the cylinder on the proefi

The truck manifolds also look as though they are a pretty nice design rather than a log manifold like the Mercedes.

Also wanted to share that on Open class cars in Rally we run a single 34mm restrictor on the turbo inlet. Now this is cold side so dense air vs hot air and we are limited to around 300fwhp give or take a little.

Right now I am putting in bungs on both downpipes to measure back pressure. I am also putting a sensor in the passenger side manifold to measure air fuel. I already have a sensor in the driver side, so this way we can see the air fuel on both banks of the motor.
Last we are going to measure boost at the turbo and not the intake manifold, the turbo might be putting out way more boost than we think, but the intake manifold might only be reading 17lbs which is what we are seeing on the dyno.
Hopefully this will narrow down what this b***h is all upset about.

Your multiplications to calculate HP potential of a manifold are completely irrelevant, as the countless number of other variables would make anything other than guessing an exercise in futility.
Too keep the thread on track, the MB manis are definitely small, but not as small as mentioned earlier coming in at just a touch under 1.640 for the inner stainless tubing..

I looked up these manifolds and they have a 2.25" outlet. Which is 1.8x larger than the stock outlet on a e55. It also seems that people are porting and or cutting the flange off and welding on a larger v band outlet for bigger hp. But I found a thread on a guy making basically a 1000whp on stock ones. Which if you multiply 1.8 to, what was it 530 you will get you will get 954. This is not an exact representation of all that is going on but it would certainly be close.

Thanks homey, I will get it installed if our work around for finding the map sensor addresses are not found and changed.
