craig run the weldon fpr and pass on the wimpy russel filter. gets weldon 100 micron pre filter and a weldon 40 micron post filter. this will help as your running e85 will descale the tank and all that junk goes into the fuel system

Lol I was thinking that about the Russell filter but didn't want to say anything

major major break through last night. Tony, Jason and I went back through our notes and one thing really jumped out at us. The more fuel we added in the tune, the more the car broke up.
This happened one time before, and it was bad e85. So we decided to pump all the gas out the tank and put 93 pump in to see if it did the same thing. To our amazement, this is what the freshly pumped e85 looked like after it settled, see pic below.
don't know about you, but I have never seen e85 look like that. We went and got some 93 pump, and bam our first successful pull with NO MORE breakup.
There is still a lot more tweaking to do but with 10* total timing, 11.0 Afr we are at 490rwhp/550rwtq, 100* iats. The ecu is pulling 5* of timing at 4000rpms for what ever reason.
The car is also only seeing 12lbs of boost with a 15lb spring, so not sure what is going on there. I am very excited about the break through. As a reference I was at 525rwhp on our dyno when I ran 10.84.
I will have some graphs up today and hopefully a vid

Yuk! I wouldn't let my car drink that either. Glad you found it, I know how frustrating that can get.
Didn't know you could just switch back to gas like that??

E85 has obviously high alcohol content. This can cause it, in a way, clean your fuel lines etc. I would change the fuel filter, maybe some of the lines and fill it up with new e85

Holy crap. Do you remember where you got that E85? Make sure you never go there again
The ECU timing pull is weird... but you could bandaid it in the timing maps by just demanding more timing after 4k. I'd rather see you guys find a solution though

Damn, that's some nasty fuel! Doesn't it feel nice to find the source of a odd issue? I'm surprised it even ran on that fuel. Good luck and looking forward to seeing some big numbers

That gas station just started selling E85 lol. The other one near the shop got knocked down because the whole gas station went under. Needless to say we will probably run 93/meth on the street, and race gas at the track.

You should take that bottle, splash it all over the gas station attendant, and then drop a lit Zippo on the ground as you walk away in slow motion.
And then go back and say "Good thing this sh---it doesn't burn, right motherhumper!"

I had E85 in the car from the winter, but we pumped it out before tuning and put in fresh E85. Scary thing is, this is a new E85 Chevron station.
It is not the first time this has happened either while been on the corn. It happened about a year ago to me for the first time and it was costly too. Replaced fuel pumps, injectors etc just like this go around.

I don't know much but maybe this info might help....I have documentation that the ECU pulls timing in three stages it starts at 95 degrees Fahrenheit = 35 degrees celsius..
