2005 MB E55 AMG
Hey guys. I'm new to these cars. Although I am familiar with building other cars these are a ball game of their own. My E55 is completely stock as of now. 010 pump is it but still stock.
I have this fear of blowing any motor up from running lean so I'll install the AEM wideband this week to keep an eye on it a little bit. But... Where do I start? Aside from headers I know they do great but I would like to keep the car somewhat quiet and to be honest I'm not looking forward to a header I stall on this car. Lol my goal is to achieve 500-550whp on motor. May add some spray in the future. I was thinking of taking care of some of the cooling issues first (fabtech HE, split cooling kit) and then loop the rail, also deleting secondary cats and resonator soon then I'll do the pulley and tune. Is it safe to say that could reach my goal? Oh and what intake does everyone recommend? Any and all input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Those above list, need more to it. Some people are interested in E.T, while others are interested in Trap speed, and others care less.
Is there any way, to list mods that will get you the best E.T, and ofcourse, best Trap speed. And also, what trap speed will yield a 10 sec pass? Thank!

. The best dyno I had was 619rwhp but found out my intake was killing me on the track so I ran it with no filters. I think that was good for another 20 on the dyno. The car is sitting in the garage with no motor still. Business blew up in 2013 and we just finished building a house so I was pretty busy. Chris (Sir-Boost-A-lot) has the engine. Guess Ill send him a text and finally get the ball rolling again
. I bought a new Shelby to keep me going until then. Haven't took it to the track yet but pretty sure I'll run well into the 10's the first time out and in the 9's after that. They're so easy to go fast.

Yeah, I guess a new Shelby might distract from the rebuild..lol.
Hope to see your beast run again in the future.

I like your list, and I see a lot of questions coming about.
The list has the parts that people have used to accomplish some very good et's, and it doesn't matter which one is done first, just as long as everything is done on the list. (cooling is very important)
Don't forget to about data logging also.

Out Of Control!!
Nice list. Interesting list of product vendors used.
When a car has run fast it basically proves the product at least adds performance. If you wanna go that fast follow the recipe that was given by others.
You guys remember the company formerly known as RTR is the reason why one of the cars on the list has been out of commission for years

The list didn't list numbers. It would be a lot easier to follow a mod list if you knew which one produced what power/TQ. And if they are daily driven or not. So many different questions. I daily drive my car. Not a ton of miles everyday but it gets used every day. So reliability is huge, don't care about has mileage or anything. Would kind like to keep it low key. But like I said I wouldnt of posted if the lists had numbers to what the cars made.

I'm thinkng we should have a thread that is more precise as to what mods should get you out of 12 sec to high 11's, and mods that will get you from high 11's to mid and low 11's, and mods that should get you into the 10's. Not every one is trying to achieve a 10 sec goal. I just need some mods that will make me go a little faster without the fear of car breaking down, eventhough, I don't daily drive the car. I think this will better help some members to make a choice of what their goals are. Just a thought...

12.0 - 12.5
11.5 - 12.0
11.0 - 11.5
etc..
Then users can list in their combos. It will give everyone an easy way of gauging approximately what they need to achieve their ET goals.

It doesn't 100% work like that. A bad 60ft will almost always trap higher than a lower one of that makes any sense. I usually trapped high 132's and a couple 133. I would usually weigh in right around 4400lbs.

A dyno can vary by 50hp depending on the dyno itself
ET can vary by .5 sec from run to run - especially if on street tires, bog or spin, etc.
I still think trap speed is the best (or most consistent) indicator of power.

What kind of variance do you see at 130mph?
