Who is daily driving their w211 E55 in 2017?
Hi All,
I've been lurking here for years, but just registered as I'm just about to buy an 05 E55. I won't be daily driving it, it will probably see about 50% of my daily driving duties.
I'm interested to know how many enthusiasts here are using these cars as daily drivers, or just as weekend cars?
Ben.

I commute almost 50 miles a day, M-F in the E55. During the summer months I also drag race it (almost weekly) and do the occasional autocross.

20k miles per year and I drive it all year round. Salt, snow, rain etc.. body doesn't rust so I'm not worried. In the end it's just a car for me. I'd rather not drive anything else. Cost vs benefit of the E55 is tough to beat if performance is high on your list.

This is my new DD
First post. Just picked her up last weekend w/91k on the clock. She now performs DD duties in place of my Grand Cherokee. The turbo Buick is the good weather toy. Car seems well sorted out with a clean CarFax and my discussion with the prior two owners. Been lurking for a while researching and familiarizing myself with the vehicle. Tunes and pulley coming shortly. Only thing that doesn't work is the the Keyless Go function on three of the four door handles.

I use my CLS55 as a work truck. 25k a year worth of seat time. When I pull up at a jobsite, people think I'm the homeowner until I start pulling tools and equipment out of the trunk. Then they're just confused or they think I'm nuts.

Been my daily driver for almost 9 years. I hope to drive it another nine to be honest. Average about 10k per year. Don't worry about driving it all of the time. It will drink gas and use tires! You're down near the residual value so miles won't mean anything within reason.

Purchased mine from the 2nd owner (who had it for only 2 months) in July of 2014 with 80,000mi. As of this morning, comfortably at 121,500mi, with a daily round-trip commute of 110mi in the lovely state of New Jersey.
I've been diligent with my maintenance before going crazy with mods. It is a fantastic daily driver, an even better highway cruiser. Gas mileage aside, I thought I would miss my manual, Stage 3 B5 S4, but I really don't. My only regret is not going harder for an estate, baby #1 is on the way and the lack of folding rear seats is my only qualm. Time for a roof-rack and box.

I bought my 2006 E55 fifteen months ago and have put 23k miles on it. Just drove over 800 miles this weekend on a trip. Maintenance and rear tires have been expensive, but I was paying for the sins of past owners and now feel the car is finally where it should be. New stereo, too.
