AMS update - tuned 2014 E63S is running strong
just wanted to document an update on my AMS tune that I've had for about 5000 miles now.
Heres the link to the original tune:

The car is running strong and I've had warranty work without any issues, of course I pop in (45 seconds) the stock ecu and then take it in for dealer service. The car is under a 7/75k Mercedes ELW warranty. I bought the car new in 2014.
Recently i I had a blinking CEL at WOT and stopped the car immediately and restarted it and the light cleared. I pulled the codes and it was P0300, P0305, and P0308.
Took it to Kyle and Jake at AMS in West Chicago, IL which is a 30 min drive for me and they replaced my original plugs with oem plugs gapped at 0.022 and ran the car and logged it. It was detecting knocking after the plugs but not throwing a CEL/code. I have been using 93 octane religiously. They retuned it and re logged it and all is well and car pulls as strong as ever and is fun as hell. (I had 32,000 miles on my original factory plugs, 5000 of those miles were tuned miles)
Also i have no idle or low rpm vibes that some have reported with narrow gapped plugs. The car pulls like a fawkin' rocketship and it's just brilliant.
Kudos to AMS once again for their amazing customer support.
Enjoy the ride!

When you experienced your flashing CEL was it at WOT going from 3-4 gear at around 60-80 mph??
How does it pull now after new plug, gapped tighter and tweaks to the tune??
I was at WOT from a dig I think 2nd to 3rd when it started blinking and engine stumbling... I was about 50-60mph
it pulls like a rocketship ... same as before ... I ran a trackhawk from a dig and beat him to 70mph and also ran a non tuned rs3 and edged him out and then lost to an aventador on 88 that had the better gearing when he took off ... all SINCE my tune was tweaked

I did have some misfires on an earlier tune, I retuned for the AMS airboxes. I had them on for a while but never updated it.
also it looks like the airboxes really helped out 30+ hp
You pretty much can only use that MS 109 ecu at the dragstrip right?? Or can you drive on that fuel (if you needed to, not a daily driver of course) for longer periods on highway??
.
I think mostly it allows for more timing, the fuel is oxygenated as well. From my understading it helps power production.
Usually if I am going to use that tune I'll run down to 1/8 tank 93 pump. There is a unleaded 100 octane pump about 25 minutes from my home so I'd put in 3/4 tank maybe. Run that down to empty then throw the MS 109 in.
