Brembo rotors
Hey guys I’m new here but have been lurking for a long time and need some help. I bought new Brembo front rotors for my 2016 E63. My mechanic is telling me they are too thick and hitting the calipers. Has anyone ran into this before?

Hello Nick, it looks like Brembo rotors 09.9764.23 show equivalent to Mercedes p/n A2194210212, which is applicable to early W212 (with M156 engine). Here is the applicability across the 212 models in the North American market:
Bond brake disc, front
p/n A2194210212
212.077 E63 AMG 2WD Sedan MY2010-2011
Bond brake disc, front
p/n A2124210512
212.074 E63 AMG 2WD Sedan MY2012-2013
212.274 E63 AMG 2WD Wagon MY2012-2013
212.092 E63 4MATIC Sedan MY2014-2016
212.076 E63 S-Model 4MATIC Sedan MY2014-2016
212.276 E63 S-Model 4MATIC Wagon MY2014-2016
with B06 (Silver) and U70 (Red) calipers
without B07 (Carbon Ceramic) system
I installed the same Brembo rotors in my W211 E63 several years ago. They are great, and prices can be very competitive. Hope this helps.

I looked up WIS article "Inspect condition of brake disks" AP42.10-P-4258EW as of 22-MAY-2017. It has relevant spec BE42.10-P-1001-08P updated 04-MAR-2016:
212.074/075/076/077/092/274/275/276/277/292
except code B07 (carbon ceramic)
Brake disk thickness: new 36 mm, wear limit 33 mm
This thickness spec and designation is the same across all 212 E63 models in North America. This thickness spec is also the same claimed by Brembo 09.9764.23, other dimensions notwithstanding. You may want to verify that you (a) received the correct Brembo parts, (b) that rotor thickness is 36 mm, (c) that some other dimension is "too thick" and contacts the caliper (like the hubcentric portion). The tech can compare the original part on the car to the new parts or the diagram. Remember that Mercedes part numbers are indeed different as mentioned in my previous post.
Hope this helps.

I found this W204 discussion about the AMG brake rotors from several years ago. Pics included. Might help.

I see the same at FCP Euro.
When I look up brake rotors for my 2013 E63 (212 074), this exact Brembo part shows up as a replacement.
Also when I change the model year to 2016, same results show up as this being an OEM replacement.
I don’t think you should have any problems fitting.

Go with the information in this thread,
https://mbworld.org/forums/w212-amg/...rs-dealer.html
i have these exact brembo fronts and Zimmerman rears from FCP euro which are lifetime warranty and you can replace them anytime for free. I go through rotors about every 15,000 miles and will never pay for another rotor again when you buy them from FCP euro. My Indy charges about 300 per axle to replace the pads and rotors, so for under two grand with a good indie you get everything replaced with a lifetime warranty on the parts.

So, I decided to try and replace the front brakes myself since you guys convinced me that these Brembos would work, and they fit perfectly. I’m not sure what was going on with my mechanic. Maybe he just didn’t want to work on a Mercedes on a Friday? Anyway thank you for all the info

Yes that is correct, you pay for the rotor 1 time and when you need to replace it you buy another from FCP and then send back the old one you bought. I thought it had some gotchas but it’s exactly as they advertise and you’ll never buy a 2nd set of rotors or pads again.
