Also the Mandrus website sucks, no way to contact them via the website to confirm size. Can you put a 45mm ET on the rear when OEM is 55mm? Is 10mm that big of a deal?

go fast grocery getter wagon
Which size Mandrus wheels did you get? I went to their website and saw 19 x 9.5 that seems would fit front and back. I would want to run the smaller size in winter just to get into cheaper tires, in fact I can't find any performance 20" tires around that would fit anyway.

Mandrus Arrow
Front: 19 x 9.5 et 25 product code: 1995MAA255112M66
Rear: 19 x 9.5 et 52 product code: 1995MAA525112M66
$292 US per wheel is what I found online ... https://www.discountedwheelwarehouse...oppingCart.cfm
I guess it could be cheaper if you do a bit more digging online or your local wheel shops

Before: Stock wheels on summers
After: Axis One wheels- 20x9.5 on 275/35/20 Sottozero Performance Winters, squared. Wheel offsets are 30 front and 50 rear from Tire Rack on close out for 150 each. Still currently available but limited quantities. Low pressure cast wheels but fine for winter beating at that price. Wheels weigh 26-27 lbs, slightly less than OEM. Just an option.

This is what my dealer recommended as well.

Any possibility for using the 19" GT 4 door sedan wheels?
Hello,
I have an E63 laying in wait at the Baltimore VPC since July, and will also hopefully be united with the ride when released sometime "this year." Being in NJ, I will need a winter setup also. I looked at the DOG for the new GT 4 door sedan, and there appears to be 19" x 10 and 19" x 11 wheels available for that model. Does anyone have part numbers and or info like offsets? That would be great for winter or all season.
Cheers,

As noted many times, do a square set up. don't waste your money with staggered. remember you want narrow for snow. you don't need to spend the money on wide. Tire Rack is awesome and very price competitive.

This seems like a good tire - Bridgestone Potenza RE980AS Ultra High-Performance All-Seaon. They come in the OEM 265/295 diameters and widths.

For winter? No, just no. All season tires are terrible in real winter conditions. If you are going to be in real winter conditions, buy a tire designed for it.
I’m going with a square set up of Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 265/40-19 102v....assuming I can source the tire. It’s listed on Michelin’s site, so I’m hoping it is actually available.

My point is not everyone lives in and/or drives in real winter conditions, but they drive in cold weather, where true winter conditions do not exist everywhere, all the time. Therefore, an all-season is not a bad choice for a AWD car. There are some dealer reps on this forum that have installed all-seasons - namely the Conti Extreme DWS-06 - on customer cars before delivery during winter. Also, the bonus with the Bridgstone is it comes in OEM size. It will be interesting to note how the Bridgestones will preform in this category of tire for its specific customer base.

Yes, Ive seen that as well. I don't like the look of it. The voids in the tread are rather small/narrow. Id rather have the more aggressive pattern from the PA4. I suspect the PA5 may perform better on ice, but the PA4 better in clearing snow, which is a bigger concern for me.

I do agree that winter tires will always be the best in "real" winter conditions. I am also getting winters put on, my choice is the Pirelli Sottozero Serie II (W240) 265/295R20. But this is because I live outside the greater Toronto area, where there are single lanes and infrequent snowplow services.

I've ordered the Bridgstones from tirerack. The great thing about the all season tires is that I don't have to worry about my shoes disintegrating when the temp gets below 40 here in NC. More of ice events here and not too much snow. 4-wheel drive is more than adequate here for expected conditions.
