I did exactly same thing. no issues so far

I do see some of you guys are running different tires. I am going to be keeping my 20s on and if it does snow a lot, I will just drive my GLS550. Which tires should I go for? I wanna order them before I get delivery and I have a bit of time.

I just took delivery on Saturday and I put Bridgestone Potenzas on yesterday. They are the only all seasons I found that fit the 20 inch stock tires in the correct width. 265 and 295. Tirerack was out of stock and the rep said Bridgestone wasnt in production on them currently. Maybe a few months. I got mine new off eBay.

I’ve had cars in the past where I had 20 inch rims with all seasons. I’ve never had a problem in the snow. I live in NYC. However, I’ve never had an all season tire this width before and on a car with this much power. I guess I’ll find out this winter how these tires handle it.

I am thinking of getting 19" rims with the Bridgestone Blizzaks, anyone have any thoughts on these tires vs others?

Just to ask again, has anyone with experience got a view on this set? Would this be suitable for my Estate?

if you are going staggered 19”. What are the wheel width you are getting ? What are the offsets for front and rear ?

Factory spec.
9,5 x 19 offset 25 | 10,0 x 19 offset 55

Also, some cannot clear the front brake caliper, in rare situation, even though the width and offset are similar or identical to factory spec. It’s advisable to ask the wheel shop before buying

Thanks, is staggered the way to go? I don’t know about widths and offsets, I’ll have to check! I knew it wasn’t going to be as simple!!!

I might be getting the chance to test out my Potenza RE980AS tires this weekend as snow is being predicted in NC, but I'm really not expecting any surprises. The tires have performed to my expectations since I mounted them1 month ago. I really don't understand why MB doesn't offer an all-season tire option when the car is being configured. Perhaps there were no suitable offerings until the Bridgestones became available.

As a comparison, my E300 with 4Matic and Pirelli PZero all-season had no trouble in the previous winter to allow me to negotiate my steep driveway nor driving on snow-covered streets. There has been a considerable change in the all-season offerings from different tire makers in both tread compound, design and high-performance capability. I suppose that if I lived in the snow-belt section of the country (I used to live in NY) that I might need different shoes, but then the road clearance of this car really doesn't lend itself to anything really deep.

based on Vossen website. If you want to go staggered.
Front: 19 x 9.5 et 25, it says it has "deep" concavity, this worries me a little as whether it will clear the front brake caliper.
Rear: 19 x10 . custom offset (as per customer's wish). I don't have any concern over this one because the rear brake caliper is significantly smaller.

Hello,
Just got the MB 19” setup installed. Noise is less, handling almost as good. The footprints match almost exactly. Recommended.
Cheers,

Damn, back to drawing board, Vossen confirmed they were not suitable, thanks for the heads up!

Its proving tricky to find 19” wheels for some reason!

HRE flow form wheels. Although they have no exact fitment for our E63. They do have for the last W212 E63.

Front: 19x9 et 35 .... you will need 10 or 12mm spacer though. You can still run 265/35
Rear: 19x9.5 et 45 Probably best to run 285/35

https://www.hrewheels.com/store/flowform

Again, it is best to contact HRE directly first to confirm

So, who would be stupid enough to buy a high performance car with all season tires??

High performance cars should come with the best available tires for each season. High performance summer tires for the summer season and some of the best winter tires for the winter season.
The only sure thing about an all season tire is the fact that theyr'e really bad summer tires and bad winter tires in the same tire..

The Bridgestones are W rated tires 168mph. Unless you are going to track the car, these will perform more than adequately according to recent road tests. On the other hand, if you want to spend $1500 / set of Michelin PS4 for the summer which will last 10000 miles and another $1500 for the Alpin PA4 for the winter for privilege of one upsmanship, be my guest.

The rated speed is really not that important and says nothing about handling.
I'm using the Michelin PS4 for summer and Nokian Hakkapeliitta 9 studded tires for winter use. Where I live I can legally use the studded tires all year but that's just stupid as they doesn't handle as well as the Michelins in summer.

As most people understand you will only use one set at the time and the others will be stored so they don't wear while not in use.
If handling is not important you could as well buy a Nissan.

Those look great. Curious, did you use any spacers? The look is right on. FYI, I have the same brand 19s from Tirerack (Flow Ones, F1), but got the dual 5 spoke in gloss black (similar design to the OEM wheels). Also you got a great price,.. I think mine were 249 when I purchased them in OCT.. Still no car - pick that up Monday! Thanks.

No spacers. Dealer did the install for $90. TPM seems to work well too. Yeah, hard to beat Tire Rack. Everything mounted, balanced, etc, two years road hazard and free shipping. And was in the 20's last night, so just in-time. Seem to run well too from the few miles I have on them. Congrats on the delivery!
