go fast grocery getter wagon
Hi All, I’ve never posted anything on any forums before so hopefully this is the right spot for this. I finally got my E63s yesterday in selenite grey, super excited about it but didn’t come the way I expected. I was hoping it camp with the intelligent package but I was told since I got the performance seats it cancels that package out? Is this true? I’m not sure if I should care or not that the car is missing that package, too late now I guess now that I’ve signed the contract. I’m leasing the car and planning on getting a new one in 2 years. Definitely a sick car and can’t wait to drive it on some dry roads once the snow melts.

2018 E400W4 EU Delivery 1999 E320 2022 E53 COUPE
You can have the Performance Seats as a stand alone option or in P04 Package ( AMG Performance package for AMG performance seats) . Seems like when you order the car it was a misunderstanding from you or from who order the car. But what is not true is that one cancel the other.
P04 P04 AMG Premium Package for AMG Performance Seats: Power Rear $3,600
K32 : Steering Code
K33 : Extended Restart by STOP and GO Traffic
P47 : Parking Pilot w/ Surround View System
23P : Driver Assistance Package
233 : DISTRONIC PLUS (with PRE-SAFE Brake)
266 : DISTRONIC PLUS with Steering Assist
463 : Head-Up Display with AMG Specific Content
501 : Surround View Camera
513 : Speed Limit Assist
540 : Power Rear-Window Sunshade
546 : Speed Limit Pilot
EDIT: CANADA has different specs than US so it may be true that you cannot have one with the other

2018 E63S AMG
Yeah, they're a waste of time, you'll never miss them. Sorry, just trying to make you feel better.
Actually in truth, I used the heck out of them during my European Delivery tour.
You don't have to turn the features on. When off they take away nothing from the driving experience.
There is no question that the automagic speed limit adoption saved me a bunch of money as the speed limit there change frequently and half the time we never saw the signs.
The adaptive cruise control is very nice. Really helpful in heavier traffic. Will take you all the way down to a full stop. To resume, just lightly tap the gas peddle if the stop was for more than a few seconds.
I like driving too, but on the longer stretches on the open highway, it was nice to let the car do some of the work. Allowed for you to relax and give your eyes and head/neck a break and look around without requiring the full focus one normally needs.
I'm hopeful my car will be released from the VPC and sent to the dealer very soon. I'm looking forward to the cross country drive across the US to bring the car home to So Cal.

Winter Driving?
For those that have taken delivery and have had some practical experience with the new 4Matic+, is this car practical for a daily driver - even in a Chicago winter (assuming you throw winter wheels/tires on it)?

Been driving mine in Toronto as a DD for the last 5 months with no issues. I got Sotto Zeros 3 on it and it is 100% fine in the winter in both snow and ice.

Yes, I have winters on mine (19" Michelin Aplin PA4) and took it out on the blizzard in early January here on Long Island, NY. I had no issues at all and went uphill past a stuck SUV. The car is capable and fine as a DD.

DELAYED!!!
My E63S was supposed to be finished on Feb 7, assigned a VIN and be on the water this week. Just got a call from my dealer who said there is a "parts delay" and they don't know for how long. Anyone else running into this? I ordered the car on 11/2/17 and still have no date. At this point, I am going to look around and see what inventory exists in the USA and drive one home. Will keep you posted.

1)There is a labor dispute that is causing the delay
2)This labor dispute is affecting certain parts of the Mercedes family
3)They may not make any more model year 2018 E63S!!
I am concerned that number 3 is related to a quality issue. Has anybody heard anything about this? Or, is this legit and does getting your hands on a 2018 make it a classic down the road?

There was a strike affecting the German auto industry but it has been resolved. Shouldn't effect the rest of the year though.
