Too much red stitching inside. Those bucket seats look really severe but very stylish. I'd pass on the Tesla of any model, but that's just me.

Do you have a source for this info, or are you speculating?

I expect we will see E63 production resume sometime in the next 6-8 months, either as 2022 or early 2023 models. MB handing this profitable market to BMW and Porsche for the next two years? I don’t see it. And the MB V8 is not dead; the upcoming SL and G 4x4 thing will have it, and most likely the next GT coupe as well, not to mention more versions of new S, existing G models, etc.

To my knowledge, per the MB press release, production has been “suspended”, not canceled.

“I expect we will see E63 production ”=speculation, right?

Believe what you want. The next GT coupe is a hybrid drive train for 2023. 2024 wagons will be hybrid with either 4 or 6 cyl engines. Do you have any indication that orders can be placed for 2022 production? Heck, the regular W213 and SUVs are coming without sound systems, nav, cruise control. The chip situation will most likely not be corrected until the end of 2022.

It's insane, they said they would take $20k over and if what he's saying is true, they must be really happy they held on to it. There is a dealership in Nashville, TN that said they sold two AMG GT Black Series for $637k each. The ADM there could get you an Aventador. Nutty times....

Hell if a Ram TRX can go for $40k over then why can't an AMG wagon?

2014 E350 Wagon, 2014 BMW M5
Random musings. Was hoping to not like the M5 CS. Sad to report it is the better driver's car. Feels lighter on its feet, and shrinks around you even more than the E63S. Somehow BMW has managed to put feeling back into the steering rack. It's very light until you change modes then turns into a sports car. Steering feels almost hydraulic.

The transmission is smooth as molasses. No more dual clutch so I'm sure the AMG is better in manual mode but the AMG can't match BMW's in automatic mode. Smooth and effortlessly fast. (Why they didn't tune the M5 Comp this way is beyond me.) The ceramic brakes are the most effortless I've ever felt for a large sedan. This car is SICK. I want to hate BMW for what they've done with designs as of late plus M everything mentality but this car's drawn me back in. The wagon is obviously more practical in every way but doesn't have the finesse of the M5.

The bucket seats are pretty amazing. Easy in and out, unlike Porsche GT cars I'm used to. They couldn't really be more supportive. The adjustments are just enough to properly cradle the driver without being overly harsh.

The BMW's electronics are more satisfying to use, including the user interface. Simple. iDrive?

I'm awaiting my new wagon and will be fun to compare them together for a few months before selling one.

Aesthetically, I prefer the AMG wagon's exterior and BMW's interior.

I only have a couple hundred miles on the clock and haven't pushed it much so take my initial impressions with a grain of salt. For now I could only wish this were a wagon and with normal seats for greater ease of use. The M5 isn't much of a sleeper. Will report back in a few weeks.

A real shame that BMW no longer makes, let alone imports, an M5 Touring.

BMW

I have an E28, E34, E60 and F10 M5 in my garage. Yes - I know - I’m missing the E39. Working on it.

I was waiting to buy the F90 when the CS came out. I am sure it is fantastic driver - but the gold trim and silly seats are a deal breaker. I ordered an individual competition instead.

^^^It's really not gold. It is an elegant matte bronze. Probably best with the green paint. Also, it can easily be changed out. Wheels, kidneys and sides.

BMW should've optioned standard seats. However, these are about as good as they get when it comes to seats. I wish they built this car in a non-metallic black. Will share some decent pictures after I properly detail the car. Just took factory plastic off. BMW does a great job with this protecting most every surface.

Just not my thing. I’m glad they built it and I am glad you like it. I was hoping for something a little bit less boy racer. Oh well - the Comp will meet my needs. Blue Hera Mica/Carmel/CCBs.

Congrats on yet another new vehicle. I must be living a life in a different reality. It must be great to be able to throw all this money around buying big boy toys and to be able to discard them when you are bored. Must be rewarding at some level.

2003 E39 M5 is the only car I've ever sold that I wish I hadn't. I still have my Z8 but I feel like I'd miss it less.

SFT: I agree with you. This is why the E63S wagon is very how to beat all-around. Best car ever.
HBerman: A fool and his money shall soon part. Thing is with some of these cars right now you can basically sell for MSRP with a few thousand miles on the clock. As long as you don't pay over it shouldn't be a big problem. This will come to an end but who knows when. Kind of going a little crazy right now because these models may be the last of an era. I was a total idiot letting dealer buy back my wagon for $125k ($145k sticker with 600 miles). Just never suspected end of production right soon after 2022 was announced.

If you don’t mind me asking, were you able to get the M5 CS at MSRP or did you have to pay adm? And how come you can’t actually build one on BMW’s site? Does it come built in only one spec? I would love to get one, but I agree that the seats aren’t family friendly.
