2019 E-450 Wagon
I just now decided to order an AMG Wagon.
Is it too late? (Impulse decision, always wanted one but won the lotto today.)
I did an inventory search, nothing came up.
As per above, Only 9 allocated to the US?
Are they all the lifted version with plastic cladding around the wheel wells, Cross Country?
Can't just call my nearest MB dealer now, overseas on vacation.
Can't find any info on the MB/AMG US home page, hence these questions..
What comes after the V-8 is phased out, souped up V-6 or some kind of hybrid power train? Wagons will still be made?
How much more is insurance for an AMG Wagon versus an MB Wagon. (Paying about $650 every 6 months for my E-450 Wagon)

Metaphorically speaking, but not the Powerball.
Looks like an AMG Wagon is not in my future, the other option is a loaded 2023 E-450 Wagon (Cross Country)
Or an AMG G-Wagon: They look kind of retro cool, but not sure yet if I can love one, but maybe I can: I am easy..

Nothing like a great hybrid. Best of both worlds. Porsche is perfecting it. IDK what will happen at this point with E63. I hear V6 hybrid or V8. Hoping for V8. Electrical system on W213 generation is inferior to many other cars at this point. Lots of room for vast improvements.
For anyone who is anxious, I wouldn't be too upset because there's a solid chance for a superior V8 hybrid drivetrain for 2024.

^^^Haha. Absolutely. Don't get me started! Can you imagine the fire if Mercedes did something as sloppily on the G63. Designers should be fired for the abortion that is the refreshed W213 E63 front grille. Separately, the star is absurdly large. Hideous. My least fave part of the refresh. Old design is a million times better.

AMG E63 Hammer Wagon. Alfa, Rover, Ferrari, Porsche.
That V8 hybrid powertrain already exists in the AMG GT73, and per a fellow forum member who drove it alongside several other AMG models, he did not like it at all. Heavy as a pig and didn't handle the weight well. Hopefully he's seeing this and can chime in here---I apologize but don't recall the member or thread where that was written or else I'd link it.
Monstrously powerful, but hybrids tend to be heavy with ICE, batteries, electric motors, and associated hardware combined. Hopefully a clean-sheet W214 can better integrate the new powertrain? We shall see...

2021 AMG E63s Wagon
What Price Glory?
My 2021 AMG E63s Wagon's Active Steering Assist issues were finally repaired after 65+ days in the shop. Thought it was fixed last month but it was still not functional after I drove GLC300 Loaner 220+ miles North to ABQ to retrieve the Beast! After several steering wheel modules, steering wheels, and wiring harness tweaks, the Shop finally fixed it last week by replacing all the switches on the Steering Wheel! Guess I got faulty parts during my first or second decade of Production March 2021?
Personally IMHO, I don't like how the GT63e GT73e hybrids sound and that's before you try to toss around all that weight from the batteries. The 2024 AMG E63s 4-cylinder hybrid power plant has more power than the holy grail TTV8 hand built Panzerlied Engine in my S-213 but how will it Sound? My 2012 Honda CRZ Hybrid was only engaging because it had a six speed manual...traded it for the heavy 2020 CRV Hybrid appliance that sees duty for the Wife at our GA Residence. Since I can't get a Final Edition E63s if I ever had to replace my 2021 AMG Wagon would seriously consider that 2.5T inline 5-cylinder in the new Audi RS3! That iconic (Hans Stuckly) engine makes glorious noises and the RS3 at 3600lbs+ would out handle my stock LS3 2015 Chevy SS manual on a road course and provide Thrills on the 1500-mile Treks between NM and Athens, GA. From the Land of Enchantment to the National Champions! Will keep the 2012 Ducati until we eventually consolidate and move to the DMV area if wifey transfers to mother USDA...

It's all a question of the country marketing org signing up for slots. It's the same as why Canada could order the C-class wagons and none were orderable for the US. The Canadian ordering system basically mirrors the German configurator which helps as well. Enjoy the largess.

I was really torn about ordering with spots available but these crazy federal and BC taxes are too painful and completely unfair.
I'm sticking to used from now on. Paying a 20% federal tax AND a 20% provincial tax on top of 5% GST is ridiculous. Are they trying to decimate the luxury car industry on purpose?

P.S. used prices here are reflecting the new tax even though they were sold without it. Seems everything popped the % of the tax. The used guys are like "hey you are saving the tax want my car for over MSRP with 20,000 kms and 1/2 the warranty? or not?!?!"

Tough times. I really like the Audi A6 Allroad for half the price of my 2023 E63S wagon build. Love how it's so very subtle. Not over styled in any way. If financial markets continue to implode, we'll be able to buy most any car (short of some Ferraris and all Porsche GT cars) for MSRP next year.
