The Life and Journey of a 2023 Mercedes-AMG E63 S Wagon
I use the MICHELIN Pilot Alpin 5 snow tires
They are great. This time the snow was just far too deep! Car surfed off the ground via the under trays. Hard to get traction with wheels in the air.
Buffalo gets a lot more snow then we do! We are about an hour from there and about 40 mins from Niagara Falls NY. We cross a few times a month for the best pizza and wings

Backyard was pretty wicked during the storm

Oil Change, Brake Fluid Flush, Air Filters, Rear Dff Oil Change, Transmission Oil Change
They wrote "Minor oil leak from front differential, recommend reseal". Bugger that I just read this on the report at home - I will have to ask if this is a warranty thing.
Vroom Vroom! If the weather breaks it's time for summer shoes!

How many miles do you have?
this will blow my mind if they don't cover this under warranty
- the front diff fluid is a non serviceable item for the 213, so how will they claim I wonder that this is not warranty item

The more concerning thing to me is usually my SA will point stuff like this out, I found out only by reading the papers after getting home. I hope just an honest busy/oversight.
Remember they did replace my whole transmission, I wonder if the leak is from that?
I texted my SA back, confident all will be good. Keep you all posted!
The Best of Mercedes & AMG

Oakville Autohaus for the win again!
We all get busy sometimes... it's all good. And note to self - read the **** I sign

LIFTED VEHICLE AND REMOVED ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION SPLASH PANELS FOUND FLUID LEAKING FROM FRONT DIFFERENTIAL. REQUIRES REMOVAL AND RESEAL.
DRAINED OIL FROM FRONT DIFFERENTIAL, REMOVED FRONT DIFFERENTIAL AS PER WIS INSTRUCTIONS.
RE-SEALED DIFFERENTIAL, REPLACED MAIN CASE SEAL, PINION HOUSING SEAL, PINION RADIAL SEAL AND BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT AXLE SEALS.
FILL DIFFERENTIAL WITH NEW OIL, RE-ASSEMBLED. CLEANED AREA OF OIL RESIDUE. PERFORMED WHEEL ALIGNMENT CHECK AND ADJUSTED FRONT TOE. ROAD TESTED VEHICLE, ALL OKAY.

So happy my Black Boost CPC module is still collecting dust on the shelf. Every time I get the itch to start tuning the car seems to need warranty work. Imagine the cost for the new trans and now this diff re-seal?
Anyone know if my CPC can be re-VIN’d for resale? I don’t think I’ll ever be brave enough to use it.

Why do some dealers try so hard to NOT to warranty work
And my dealer mentions stuff they inspect and find that I did not even complain about?
Anyone konw how Warranty Work billing works vs. just paying service customers?
Manufacturers acting in self interest seek to reduce warranty book hours over time. Franchise agreement between manufacturer and dealer is the legal instrument through which the manufacturer exercises its power over the dealer.
A version of the warranty book hours and dealer protest to the same can be seen in posts on all German car fora, when third party warranty company representative make comments. Dealers, in their corruption, bill the third party warranty companies max book hours and at the same time tell the consumer the “covered” repair still costs them (the consumer) another five grand. Double-dipping by corrupt dealers. Let’s remember that nearly all employees in a dealer are paid commission.
Non-warranty work is somewhat subject to open market forces (oil changes, brake jobs) but generally is all-out consumer abuse perpetrated by corrupt dealers, who are protected by consumer-harming state-by-state dealer laws. In summary: non-warranty work is the Wild West and a no-bolds-barred invasion of consumers’ wallets.
