Rob,
Is the system on sale for the '08 GL class (with KG) yet? If so, have you used EuroMotorcars in Bethesda, MD for installation, and if so, how did they do?

Are these Starters ready for the W211 yet?
I am interested in the long-range antenna packages as well as the ability to use my phone to start the car using cellular towers.

Yes, it is a remote starter and does all that BLAH BLAH you said. What I meant was, that it's not just quick install like many remote start systems. It's it's own separate system, different focus for the bells & whistles, unlike this one. Like I said, if you really, REALLY, want to know all the details, contact Steve, instead of cutting in on one thing that I said and calling me out. I'm waiting for this one.
Also, don't get all defensive about your statement of not caring about the environment or not caring about the pollution your car puts out, it's not like like I said it.
Thank YOU sir.

The remote starter is probably reasonable when extreme cold starts are too rare to purchase the AUX heater and the remote starter is not used too frequently to spoil the engine.
AUX heater is a lot better for polution but that is probably not a significant argument in a country full of S65AMGs and similar cars.

I assume you actually know what the auxiliary heater is but anyway: it is no cheap accessory (probably not available in the US as an option from the factory but it is en Europe) and in that sense not exactly an alternative to the device of this thread. The main feature of the AUX heater is that it can be used to warm up the engine and the car even at such low temperatures where it is not safe to start the engine (at least not good for the engine health). Even at less extreme cold it is not that good for the engine to let it idle too long, a lot of water gets condensed everywhere, including engine oil.

Canada is a big Country (like Europe ) but I know it can be as cold as in my place at least at some parts of Canada (even colder). In this case you should really get familiar with the AUX heater idea, unfortunate that the local shops do not promote or even support the feature. Steve from MBenzNL installed one for an owner in Southern California.

Please keep us informed when a W211 starter will be available for installation in NJ; I will like to have one installed in my 07 Bluetec.

the manual transmission vehicles are going to take a bit to get field tested as we are going to have to arrange for test vehicles across the pond (we have no manual mercedes in the US). we have already started producing alternate keyfob configurations for non-US models like the B-Class which uses LOCK-UNLOCK-LOCK on the keyfob as the remote start trigger. Alternately keep in mind that all smartkey starters have the ability to add an aftermarket remote control to them for extended range or even a remote page system where you can call in from you cell phone and lock, unlock the doors, pop the trunk or hatch, and start or stop the vehicle.

W212 has been tested and is working on the coupe. All variants should work without issue but we still have a few that we need to test just to be sure. We should have those done in the coming weeks.
W463 (the G-Wagon) is also tested and working. We tested back to 2006 so far... still need to check some of the earlier models.
W220 is next up in line for testing. The 220 platform uses the same ignition system as the SL (R230) so we believe that the same system that currently works in the SL roadster will work in the older S but again we need to thoroughly test. Expect to see the 220 ready as a plug-and-play kit around september.

E Sedan and DEI responder compatible
Here is another one we just finished up: Its the Smartkey Starter installed on the new E550 Sedan with the Shifter on the column. Also we just finished our direct interface with the new DEI responder remotes which allow for really long range.
Here is some video of the starter in action:

W203 C Class 2003-2007 now supported.
We just finished testing our smartkey starter remote start on the W203 C Class with build dates from 07/02 and newer. The interface is also plug-and-play and will work with factory keys with or without the panic button.
