Auto Addiction now has, in stock.... Remote Start's for almost every new Mercedes.. Uses Factory Key.... Installation done here, make your appointment today!

For:
New C (204), CLS, 221 S Class, 211 E Class, New GLK, 230 SL, R Class, 164 ML....

Here are some info and Features of the Remote Start....

To remote start the vehicle, press the Panic button on the key for 1 second or less. The vehicleʼs lights will flash 5 times and
the vehicle will start in 5-30 seconds. If the vehicle fails to start, it will make up to 2 additional attempts to start the vehicle. If
the vehicle still fails to start after 3 attempts, the lights will flash 3 times and the unit will deactivate.
The vehicle's lights will flash every 5 seconds while running in remote-start mode. If not deactivated, the vehicle will continue
to run for 15 minutes.
While running, the Door Lock, Door Unlock and Trunk Open buttons will operate exactly as before.
Remote-start mode will be terminated under the following conditions:
๏The Panic button is pressed for 1 second or less (Remote start off).
๏The Panic button is held down for 2 seconds or longer (Panic alarm/vehicle locator).
๏The brake pedal is depressed.
๏The hood is opened. (Note that if the hood remains open, the module will not attempt to remote-start the vehicle.)
๏The vehicle exceeds 3500 RPM.
๏The key is turned to Ignition/Run.
To turn the car off while running in remote start mode, press the Panic button for 1 second or less.
To operate the vehicle in remote start mode: unlock the doors, enter the vehicle, insert the key and turn to the Ignition/Run
position. When the key is turned to the Ignition/Run position, the remote-start mode is automatically cancelled and the
vehicle is ready to drive.
Panic/Vehicle locator:
While the car is running in remote-start mode, holding the Panic button on the key for 2 seconds or longer will turn off the
engine and activate the Panic alarm. Pressing the panic button again for 1 second or less will turn off the alarm and restart
the vehicle.
When the car in not running, the Panic feature will operate normally, and pressing the Panic button to turn off the alarm
will not start the vehicle.

5 Blinks: Remote Start turning on.
7 Flashes: Hood open.
10 Flashes: Key Initialization started.
11 Flashes: Key Initialization required.

Bunch of questions for you:

Can this be self installed?
Do any wires have to be cut?
How much?
Does a key have to remain in the vehicle?
Is this the same unit Mid City Engineering created?
Will one be coming out that works in the W203?

Thanks!

Anything Could be Self-installed, but depends on the installer....

At this point in time 2 CAN wires have to be cut... Power and ground Connections have to be made.. and there is a plug in harness as well...

No key has to remain in vehicle....

I dont know what Mid-City has made, but this does not come from them...

Im not sure about the 203 at this time.... These are the cars that is has been tested on and validated as working problem free....

Pricing is around $1000......

thats not our remote starter... ours is 100% plug-and-play and called the Smartkey Starter.

Personally, I dont think that its a very good idea under any circumstances to cut into vehicle wiring, much less the vehicle network at the key cylinder but thats just my opinion. The MB dealership on the other hand will just freak out if they see spliced wiring and then start with voided warranty stuff.

What he said!
Create one for the W203 that I can install myself without cutting any wires and you have a sale (I retrofitted my Comand unit and phone system to give you an idea of my capabilities).

As long as wires don't have to be cut it doesn't sound bad, i guess. But why wasn't it developed that way to begin with? Rob13572468, yours is plug and play? Do you have one available for the W204?

Does the smart key starter work for a 2003 e320?
