BRAKE Pad, Rotors, & Calipers Discussion Thread (OEM, aftermarket, etc...)

Steve,
You can source our pads at AutoZone, Advance, Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts or at AutoValue Auto Parts in the St.Louis area. The part you would need would be CMX1121 for the front (Adv, BtoB, AV) or 1121C at AutoZone, we do not make the rear pad in ceramic at this time.

Akebono Euro Ceramic Pads (Material: Ceramic) Front Fitment
Note: Front brake pads
Price: $95.00 (axle set)
I need to change my front brakes, the sensor came on and I've narrowed my search down to Akebono Ceramic pads or Hawk HPS regular pads.
So my question is: I have the 2 piston caliper, do I just order the C32 brake pads?? I can't find anywhere that sells the right pads for my car.
Also does someone have an extra set of front EBC Red Stuff? I thought I read someone has extras they wanna sell...
Why doesn't tirerack have brakes for ANY C230 SEDAN? I'm so through searching tirerack for brakes that fit my car, they just don't have a damn thing at all.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I have been looking for them for about a month now, and finally called Akebono, and they said "not at this time". I absolutely HATE the OEM pads for their dusting.I am having Carbotech Engineering reline my OEM backing plates with their "Bobcat" compound.

In my area, Auto Value was the most help. AutoZone and Advance seemed like they only wanted to sell stuff they had in stock. I will give a full review once I get them in.
Woooooot............no more dust in my future!!!!!!
Thanks Dan!!

I'm excited to get these installed, they look pretty cool! I wonder if you'll see the red paint when they're installed?
I picked up the new rotors and sensor at the stealership this afternoon, hopefully I'll have all this installed on Monday.

1.) I would like to get a second opinion as my brake sensor didn't come on and Ive drove less than 5k miles since my last brake pads were replaced. I think I will ask the dealership to write their recommendation on paper and take my vehicle to Kragens to ask for a second opinion.
2.) If my brakes needed replacement, Ive heard that I can get better replacement brakes and cost less than factory. What are some recommendations? Would it be wise to replace with ceramic pads?
Thanks for your time, I searched the forums but really couldn't find anything and cant really spend $2k on Brembo Big Brake kits either, (even though id really like to).
I already bought front OEM brake pads ($80 with sensor) and will take it to a local mechanic and have him cut rotors and put those pads on the car.
Only problem is, I think the C230K sedan had cross drilled rotors so you can't cut them.
You can always buy the aftermarket NOT cross drilled and they will save you the life of the brake pads and plus you will have the option of cutting them once the time to change brake pads comes again

Where did you buy your pads and rotors?
