with the TERA lights, you CAN NOT hook them up parallel. i followed the adivce and blew a bulb. they have to go in series, with the positive wire.

please be aware of this for those who plan on using these bulbs.

In Canada, I believe you have Daytime Running lights as a default. So it may not be possible to run the City lights without the mains burning. Here in the US, DRLs are not mandatory, so we can run our City Lights (only) or City Lights with Fogs, independently of the main beams.

i just installed PIAA extreme whites this morning. i got tired of looking at the yellow glow. glad i have fairly small hands. it was certainly a little difficult pulling that bulb in the tight space of the housing lamps.

Dude, the parking light is such a pain in the *** to replace! That and the driver side foglight are freakin' so much work just for replacing a bulb.

I tried the PIAA 168 Wedge Xtreme White - 5ws once... but returned them cause they were not as bright as the Philips Blue Visions W5W I have now.

Pictures like these have been posted countless times... I've even posted city light Pix myself. Unfortunately, the cameras don't really capture the true differences accurately. They all look brighter, but with the human eye you can really tell differences.

If anyone needs to buy any HID lighting products, PowerBulbs.com throws in a set of Blue Vision W5Ws free with other purchases They advertise them as "Side Lights," and you'll see the free offer on their home page. I don't work there, of course, but I've purchased from them twice and they are very good, with competitive prices, etc., and ship from England very promptly.

Did you change your harnesses to run 80 watt bulbs?

Honestly, I really don't understand all this hubbub over PIAA W5W bulbs. As noted above, I bought some myself, in spite of their expense, and returned them after finding them less bright than the free ones available elsewhere.

In sum, IMO, the PIAA Xtreme whites are:
1) too expensive
2) NOT as bright as others available.

Buy into the hype if you must...

No, I did not change my harnesses. The 80s have been in for three years now. Others have installed 100W upgrades with varying results... I consider the 80w lamps as a middle ground compromise between 55w and 100w. I recently switched to 2006 HID headlight assemblies and inspected the wiring in the process. They look like new. But I don't drive for extended periods at night, either... seldom more than an hour at a time.
