If you look at that kit you need to splice and crimp things. YOu can see it in the instructions page. Are you sure thats what you want? Just my .02

 

I do not recommend this kit. Look at the instructions. The reason why it is cheap is because it is incomplete. The wiring needs to be spliced and connected. Just my .02 What you should get is a kit that is plug and play with NO splicing. This kit saves the extra money from the material used to make the relays and run the extra lines.

thanks for bringing that up. I didn't notice that. Btw, is the kit that you found hella ballast and good bulb? Do they carry 7000K? Timmy only says white, blue, and purple. I assume 5300, 7000, and 9000?

Well, I called 2 dealers in NC. They will both do the swap. One wants to charge $35 and the other $110. My dealer only wants $35, but since I am nice to my tech i bet of I slip him a $20 he will do it for me during my service B that comes up in 900 miles. So before you install these make sure you call a dealer and make arrangements to get the settings changed.

I was wondering if anyone has gotten the HID kit to work without the error message. I hear a lot of people saying that even when they change the computer to "xenon present" They still get error codes and it shuts off after a while....

Some others have said they can get it to stay on...but still have the error code....

it seems like renncepe got his kit to work without the error codes..but thats a long time ago.

yes. all the coupes (including mine) that i know of have gotten them to work w/ the DAS setting changed. the 1st groupbuy had about 15 sets installed.

the 2 cases where the errors still showed up were in sedans. not sure why.

No probs here - not group buy either.

Mine is the Hella kit.

 

The pics definately don't do the lights justice. They are super white with just a slight hint of blue in real life. Just amazing the amount of light output that was increased from this kit. It lights up the entire road with pure white light!!!

How much is the Hella kit? I assume this kit retains the stock lenses?

 

What's price and where did you source it. I am surprised. I thought that Bosch made the W203 assemblies while Hella makes the HID for W208 W209 W210 W210 W163.

bosch does makes the headligiht assemblies as OEM for the 203. But hella will do anything to take over the market that Bosch is not interested in. i.e. the HID kit cheaper from Hella instead the whole HID unit from Bosch.

btw, Hella is doing the same thing to the E46 3-series. where bosch makes OEM unit and Hella makes aftermarket angel eye for the 3.

 

I am sorry if this is a repeat of info you guys see often.

Has anyone been using the conversion kit from Mr. Jung's? The price is good, so if it is a smooth conversion, I may go for it. Is this kit accepted by the computer HID setting?

i have not used this kit but I know for a fact it requires splicing of the wires. I wouldnt use it

 

Can you give any more details? It says plug-n-play. I know it is thrown around loosely these days but...

Are there any aftermarket retrofits that don't require splicing? What has to be spliced?
