I just think it looks out of place on these cars for some reason.

2007 C230 SS
07'' C230 with a CL Grille --> Slant Color

07'' C230 Black/Black SS

CL Grille:

1) Keep the entire CL Grille gray/metallic(factory color).. OR

2) Keep the star emblem gray/metallic and paint the slants all black

Constructive input on this would be very nice. Tell me what you guys think.

Mercedes-Benz Sedans - No matter what the current Marketing Department wants you to believe - are to be fitted with a hood star and closed grille.

Large Star grilles are for coupes, convertibles, roadsters and trucks...the CLS Class is a "4 door coupe"...

My two cents,
Jake

first of all i would like to say that all of the cars above look awsome. i also have a 2007 c230 and i want a new grill one mine but i'm still a little skeptical about the size of the icon on the cl grill. how does it look in real life, is it really that big

yea its not huge. the picture focus makes it out to be bigger then it actually is. i think the number of fins may influence how you look at the car, but thats about it. i saw a couple of c class' modded with the star grilles. id definitely get it, just not sure what color combo.

My gf got me the CL grill for my bday and I'm supposed to get it in today!
I can't wait to see it. She showed me a pic on my actual bday, but I can't remember if ti was the 3-strip or 4 strip grill..

Of all the pics on here, I think I like the 3-strip no-frame on better - gives it a more modern look.

Rlee... where did you find that grill that you have posted pics for?

I think the standard grill looks sexier on a white car.

Are the wheels on your car standard MB fitment for US market? If so what size back & front?

Those are the OEM Sport Sedan wheels from 2007 models. Same size as the OEM from 2004.5-2006 (Front - 225/45R17; Rear 245/40R17).

Thanks - same sizes as our Avantgarde but different pattern. We have a different set up here. Cars available as Classic, Elegance and Avantgarde - Then you can have the Sportpack fitted to any of them - lowered suspension, nose & skirts, drilled larger brakes, wheels etc. etc. Our Sportpack wheel is a different pattern. With East London plant so close I guess it makes it easier to accommodate custom customer requirements.

I apologize. I didn't take a second to realize you're not in the US. You are correct, these 2007 US refresh wheels should fit on most w203 OEM setups.

I do believe Saprissa had posted a thread of all the OEM wheels available for MB. Since it was posted back in 2005/2006 (can't remember which year he did it), I don't think it includes what now seems to be US only 2007 wheels. I may have stickied that thread, but not 100% positive, but check through the OEM/AFTERMARKET MOD sticky.

No apologies required. I really appreciate what I get from the forum & hope I've managed to put a little back regarding lubrication. Will do a search as suggested. I spend hours searching this forum - it's fascinating

personally not the fan of the CL-grille on any sedan, but...

this is the biggest CL-grille discussion thread and the more complete one, so I'll add to it here.

here's what I found recently that looks most like the MH-dezent grille which Drex has without the MH-dezent price.

here are some pics. only could find the silver version installed, but if it's the black one you won't see the top portion.

and lastly here's the one on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Merce...spagenameZWDVW

have fun making your decisions all.
