on a luxury sedan it shouldn't be as bad since you are aiming for luxury.

if you are going to lower the car and go crazy like the rest of us then I wouldn't go with chrome wheels because then it would look tacky.

 

yes they are. there's a greater demand for 3-piece wheels. I'm sure we'll see more companies come around.

Damn, that's HRE money.

 

My sedan came with chrome C7 wheels and the finish was flaking off after about a year. Thankfully that gave me a great reason to buy new wheels. Chrome was cool in the 90's, I'll leave it at that.

Check out this R8 sitting on 19x8.5"F with a 2” lip and 19x11.0"R with a 3" lip COR Concords with a color-matched face and silver highlights.

 

not sure what it is but im not really feeling those wheels on the r8...different spoke design would have been better imho...

 

Looked better stock. Wheels are not nearly sporty enough for one of the premier supercars on the planet.

 

I agree with the whole luxury idea. If you're going for a sporty look and you like shiny, get high polished. Otherwise just go for something BA like gunmetal or black center with a machined lip. Both usually end up looking pretty good.

Obviously I was having doubts about having them chromed/exchanged for chrome and between your responses and now my husband also putting his two cents in said to leave them the way they are and in a year or so, I'll get new tires and upgrade the rims to the stock C230 07' style (which I happen to like anyway) OR if someone (local) is willing to sell me their rims right now at a good price

What a great way to ruin the looks of an R8.

 

19x11 with a 3" lip? If an 11" rim is gonna have a lip, it should be at least 5"...or why bother.

I like it, but I dont know if I would have the chrome lip. It doesn't fit the black car w/ carbon slats in my opinion.
