i'm not sure how can those wheel not be hubcentric if they are made in 5x112 and with MB fitment. i think those will look very nice on the car.

with et35 you will have problem with your kw, so you will need that spacer. when you add spacers you pushes the wheel out, so a et35 will become et25 with 10mm spacers. the offset is in mm which is the from the center of the wheel to the hub on the wheel.

ok thanks guys, might ask at the stealership too, if anyone remembers anything please psot up ... alloywheelsdirect do list bolts and adaptors for my model and these wheels, but are not specific, might email them.
Also need to take into account the 235 fronts

I do have a 10mm one, and bolts (but only one lol) ... and i think there was one 5mm bolted to one of the wheels when i got them.

Also want some locking bolts for them

Is it safe to shorten/cut/shave lug bolts? I have some 60mm extended bolts that i m not using. Can I cut them shorter and use them?

I've had to cut some down 5mm to clear the parking brake mechanism in the rear without issue. Just make sure you have enough thread engagement and that the cut is clean.

As long as they are quality through-hardened & tempered bolts it is safe to cut them. I would not cut a surface hardened bolt.

19" Wheels & Tiresd - What's the Verdict

Guys,
What's the deal with 19" wheels? I can't find my favorite wheels except in a 19" size. That means my rear tires are going to be 265x30. That is a really low profile. This usually means a rough ride and potential wheel and tire damage from road conditions.

Anyone have a set who can comment on this? Everytime Car & Driver tests a BMW with 19" wheels, they are breaking wheels and ruining tires.

What's the scoop?

How would I know if my bolt is surface hardened or not? I was advised to wrap electric tape to cover the preferred length and use a dremel to cut off the rest.

Without the necessary hardness testers &/or an electron microscope you have to depend on their source. Decent manufacturer or OE.

The wheels are not hubcentric from what I have read, but I am not sure if that is a big deal. I have yet to see them on a w203 either. They are the Konig Milligram's. Here is a pic I got from D2 Autosport's ad...
Thanks for posting this. One of the sponsors posted these wheels awhile ago and ive been looking for the thread but forgot the name of the wheels so i didn't know what to search for. These should look nice on your car. I was thinking about getting some. If you get them please post pics...

with et35, you'll most likely need to run spacers up front to clear you co's...

Cutting lug bolts

Guys,
Save yourself a lot of time and anquish - give them away! Go to mercedeswheel.com and buy the correct length. It is very difficult to cut these bolts accurately and without damaging any threads. Remember, these are what hold the wheels on - do you really want to screw around with them?

Seriously, you are asking for problems and it just isn't worth your time and effort. Try Craigs List or just donate them to a worthy cause. Move on to something more productive.

Which is safer? Lug bolt being 3mm longer or Lug bolt 3mm being 3mm shorter?

Length is critical on a Benz. Too long & you will foul the rear e brake mechanism & do damage - too short is dangerous.

They must screw into the hub at least 6 full threads to be safe.

Deng, so a meager length of 3mm too short is dangerous?

so i'm looking for a relatively inexpensive set of rims, stock size, for my C and came across these: http://www.powerwheelspro.com/shop/p...roducts_id=190

does anyone have these or pics of them on their/a car? i did a brief search for them in this long thread but the keywords i typed in didn't yield anything. TIA!

the only way i have seen that done safely, is with the use of an electric fixed band saw, followed up by turning them on a lathe ... it's not as simple as whacking them in a vice and taking a hacksaw to them, not if you want them done properly and safely...

... and, even with the right kit, it is not always possible, depending on how they have been treated for hardness increase etc etc

i've seen them in 19" and on 204, but never on 203.

the ASA GT5 and the Bremmer Kraft in 18" from tirerack are pretty decently priced. the Motegi mr118 is not bad either.

For camber bolt or Suspension Eccentric Bolt Kit, it's to correct the camber & caster in the front? Would I need 4 to correct both camber and caster or just 2?

Is the dealership the only place that would touch these bolts? Even if i'm running on coilovers and spacers?

Basically I put my wheels on using 12mm spacers in the front. It's weird, it drives fine but let's say when I reverse the passenger front side wheel rubs against the strut a bit. Then sometimes it doesn't rub at all.

I drove all the way home and it didn't rub until I reverse in. Then when i pulled out and reverse in again, there's no more rubbing? It's only in the passenger front.

Is the any point for me to get a alignment right now without the rear camber kit or the eccentric bolt kit? Because the shops would probably only correct the toe.

you'll need 4 bolts if you want to do both camber and caster adjustment. they allow +/- 1 degree.

maybe check the bushings to see if they are allowing extra movment?

i have two fluted bolts i can't decide if i want to put -1 degree on my camber yet. when cornering my fronts load up on the sidewall too much. you can only get them at dealership and they are about $19 for a bolt.

Are you talking about part #000 330 00 18? Or a different part?

I tighten one of the lug bolt a little bit more. Hopefully that solved it, if not .. pretty weird. Hopefully I didn't rush putting on the wheels too soon :P I just wanted to get it on by tomorrow.

i think so. got the part number from the camber bolt thread splinter had.

yea, it's a weird issue. similar thing happened when i had my DCR wheels. The wheel had perfect clearance for the Brembo caliper when i'm going straight down the road, but when i'm turning left and right at intersections the rim would hit the caliper.

the strut is bolted to the steering knuckle and the hub. the spacing should not change at all. if you lift the car up...were you able to wiggle the wheel?

As Frank says you need 4 bolts. You do not need to go to a dealer. Any good alignment shop should understand these bolts. I don't go to the dealer. My alignment shop carries the bolts & fitted them. (Tiger Wheels - Cape Town)

Rear camber very seldom goes out. You usually only need to set toe. Method posted by Johnand

Sounds as though you have a slightly loose wheel bearing on the right. Give it a nip up. Don't over tighten. Front right on LHD cars always takes a clobbering. Opposite for RHD cars.

Thanks for the info Frank and Glyn ~

I can order these bolts from IMCparts through my work place and have them delivered the same (if i make the cut off time) or next day. They're made from Febi. and looks like this

It cost $13.78 each, but sadly there's only 2 from the distributor closest from me. So I'll have to wait a bit.

Edit: Just an update. The grinding noise is only heard when I reverse in any direction, but no grind reverse straight back. No grind going straight or turning left and right (maybe a little sometimes)

From what I see. The febi number is the same as the mercedes number. It's 000 330 00 18
