Emergency Brake "Pop"
Looks like there is a DIY on the Emergency Brake Disassembly (https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...rake+emergency), but I can't find it (http://www.installuniversity.com/mb/w203/w203.html)
Thanks for any responses.

STFF !
those posts seem to address a 'sticking' brake (dirty/needs lube) rather than the brake failing altogether.anyway, i'm hoping the cable just slipped out of the 'yoke' or whatever under the rear seat. i guess it'll make more sense once i take look in there. if the cable itself snapped, well i guess i'm screwed.
if its the assembly itself in the hub it sounds like it'll be $$$ and a PITA to fix. my biggest issue here is that i have no clue how the cable connects to the rear wheels and how to access the assembly itself in the hub. anybody got any tips or diagrams on this?
mleskovar, no i didn't have a flat or the wheels/lug bolts tampered with recently.
thanks for your insights!
Don't be scared and tackle it. Good luck!
