I wet sanded the clear and then buffed it. It increased the gloss quite a bit.

Painted & smoked, sort of

Well I attempted to do something with the taillights to be a little different. I'm pleased with the paint, however I wish I would have smoked a bit darker. What do you think?

My skills in pshop are awful and I can't get the transparent look. I'm sure I'll like it darker, I just didn't want it black like some of the guys on the forum.

I think that looks pretty cool. I saw someone do something similar on a w220 and it came out pretty good.

Thanks Ryan, I was going for a variation of w221 like MJ50 had questioned, but I didn't want to cover to much of the brake and tail light. Now ebay has the exact w221 tails for a w203.

i dunno i would've gone with what I had. while i loved how it looked, I did it too dark which you can't see the turn signal during the day and the reverse is soo dim during the night it's scary.

I would do so many things differently if my car was black. Some of you long timers have done so many different things to your cars, I can't keep up, I've never seen that pic before, that's very cool.

Thanks Blake, my name isn't on the list yet, but picture my car with Matte Black Wheels you are coordinating a group buy for. Then all of the black accents will come together.

I think you should smoke the white a 20% tint film and the red a 30% tint film, since your getting a matte black grill!

Have you seen these? I think they look great, if only they weren't LED. I've heard the problems others have had shortly after installing, not these particular lights, but the w220 LED's.

Those would look great on a black car. Other colors should paint the black part to match their paint just like the W221's.

I would get those if they made them for the 203. Maybe they will later on.

They do, that's were I found the picture, but the auction must have ended since I don't see them right now. Here are the same lights with white stripes.
