IMO, it looks better than painted, its a even glossy surface, when painted, it might not be even, paints can be thick at one point and less at another, and thru time, tail light paint fades, while tail light tints dont.

and tint films are good because, when your sick of it, or if you (fucccckup!) you can re-do!

is the stickercity film dark?

the thing when using films is that they dont get as dark as some people want.

they give a very dark cherry look, instead of something closer to black.

imo when you tint taillights black it looks a lot cleaner.

Somewhere around here I posted a DIY on tail light tint...
or was it on MBTrash err MBKrass? Another lost post?
Don't get me started...
for the cost of the film, you can paint them for less yourself, and get
professional results.
Takes a lot of elbow grease though.

I used their film to blackout my old WRX. When the car is clean, it looks really good/glossy.

Bottom line...I give them two thumbs up. The film has been on my taillights now 2 years strong.

I did clear coat them. I don't like the white part smoked only look. I would've done only the red part but decided at the last minute not to.

Maybe its the pics. How many coats of clear did you put on?

If you want to "unsmoke" the white part, it is very easy. Get a few Qtips and some acetone. It will come off fairly easy.

Either way, dont take them off. They look better than before.

Thanks for the acetone tip, i may have to try that. Will that damage the plastic lens at all though? I had messed up the passenger side and removed everything with nail polish remover, not the best idea. Will the acetone remove the clearcoat over the white part also? I just put a single coat of clear on them with the can you get from the auto parts store so it's not the best. They're glossy but not as glossy as stock.

edit: Acetone is in the nail polish remover right? I used that and it seemed kinda melt the plastic.

That looks much better, Ryan. I’ve joked with the Mrs. that her one ounce of lemon-scented nail polish remover (in a plastic bottle btw) is ~$4. I can get a gallon of the stuff from the paint store for about the same price!

My next project is to get the whole bottom row to light up. I STFF and found that i could just bridge the wire for the rear running lights to the inner bulbs that are for the rear fog. I don't care about losing functionality of the rear fog. Can someone confirm that connected those wires will work without any issues?

sorry dude.. im not a fan of the smoked s-class tails... the only smoked tails that i think look good are the standard c-class tails. s-class taillights look damn good when its just red and white IMO.
