Running 235/40R 17's all around on '05 Sport

I found some ridiculously priced (cheap) Advan Neova AD07's, the only problem is they are only 235/40R 17's. ;-( Anyone see a problem running these all around on the staggered rims? I'm trying to get some good tires for running auto-x, and Advan's are some of the best.

there shouldn't be any problems. I just don't think you can rotate them since the rears are wider then the fronts.

Yea that's what I figured. I'm running 225's all the way around for winter tires right now and no problems, but I was worried the 235's wouldn't work well with the fronts.

Yea, when I first put my snow tires on (225's) they rubbed when doing U-turns or backing with the wheel cranked to the right or left.

it won't rub because 235/40/17 is half inch smaller in diameter.

Mike - you are running 18" - yes? I'm about to go 245/40/17 all round like splinter. He says he has zero rubs or touches.

What is your clearance on the front strut?

i'm running 19's. keep in mind different brands have slightly different widths even if the number is the same.

I rub less with my hankook evos then i do with my BFG TA's. Both are 235/35/19, but the bfg seem slightly wider.

What rim width & offset? Do you actually have some rubbing on the strut up front? Do you have stock struts?

I will be going Michelin PS2s or Exalto PE2s if I can get the size.

Im running 235/45/17 ALL AROUND.. pirelli p6

It is so close in the front its not even funny.. i can't even put 1 finger from the tire to the spring / shock or w/e

I hear a funny noise sometimes when i back up but i don't know if its from my tires or if its something else.

But i never rubb or anything its so close it feels like it..

i'm running a front et of 27, on a 19x 8.5 rim. Basically the outside half of the tire rubs against the inside part of the inner fender on U turns. I'm probably lower around 1.5-1.75 inches. Basically its a one finger gape from the tire and fender. Its not a big deal since i dont make U turns often.

I have to keep the bfg's in the rear since its rubs on just regular turns. Thats why i think bfg cheated a little since there 235 is a lot wider then the general and hankook 235.

OK - I'm about to run 17X8 ET32 with 245/40/17 all round. I'm not worried about outside problems. My only worry was the strut. 1010 tyres & all other calculators tell me I will be fine. Hope so!
