You make a lot of sense. At least it's tried & proven & we know it works. Only slight problem is that a 225 looks a little "stretched out" on an 8" rim. That's what Cintoman is running at present just to wear out some OE tyres. I'm going the same wheels as he has so we both have this quandary. Much PM'ing in the background. Think I will definitely stick to 245 on the rear.

That can also depend heavily on the tire brand/model. Treadwith is actually a different measurement and can vary, even for the same section width tire.

Understood - Cintoman has 225 Pilot Primacy's on the front on 8 inch. I will not move from Michelin tyres in this country. Either Exalto PE2 or Sport PS2.

see slight stretch with Primacy.

You could probably do 235, but I would stick with 225 all around.

Anytime.

Not sure when I'll be in NJ. Depending on the numbers on the TVT tune, I might go down and get it installed.

I would say take them. They look good, and I think that the NT555s are just so hyped up I was expecting more. So don't blame me if you don't like them.

easily 235/40/18. you can even go up to 245, but that'll look stupid and over-sized.

STOP using TORRENT !!!! start using rapidshare (buahhaha) a lot of people like different type of music, but every single time when they hear a good vocal trance they starting to dance. So i think that trance it's good for everything and everyone I love this music i started even mixing this music so there is nothing better for me

Just got Exclaims mounted about 2 months ago, so far I love them! Can't beat the price either!

I had conti 2's on all 4. I had to replace the rear, so I opted for the UHP's. when first mounted, the were very 'squishy' and felt like the rear was a sliding a little. This is the sidewall flex. When they settled, after about 1000, miles the were ok, they will slide on occaison, and traction control comes on often in the rain. I've gotten about 10k out of them and the wear is down to the bars. Yesterday in the rain, knowing that they are worn, I took an off ramp at slow speed, like 30, and still drifted the rear a few degrees; not good.
By comparison, the Conti's that were on there before were sticky and predictable to the end, and lasted at least 30k. The UHP were only really usable after a break-in and then lasted about 10k.

I replaced the front conti's with mich PS2's last week. They are sticky as hell, and super quiet. The only beef I have with the PS2's is the way they skip an inch on grooved concrete, but any tire with a large groove all the way around will do that. However, after you get used to it, you realize it is just an inch or so back and forth, and it is NOT sliding. They ride great, grip is great, and did I mention how quite they are?

The PS2's are pricey, but I have seen them as low as 160 on sale. Realistically, they are about 180 to 190 for 225/45/17.

The conti's sport contact 2 or 3 are about the same price, but the michs are so much quieter.

I would never put UHP's up front, and I will probably not buy them again.
I have them in the rear, and I will most likely replace them with two more PS2's to match the front.

You will get what you pay for. Just make sure you shop around, and try to get it on sale.

PS: all it takes is one fender bender, or smacked guardrail, and the 70-80 dollars you saved per tire will seem pretty foolish.
