I just replaced mine with Pzero Nero M+S, if I were you I go with Goodyear GS3D. (not considering $ factor). There was a magazine that did a tire test awhile back, I forgot which magazine it was. GS3D was the top choice.

We don't have wet roads, inteferes with our sunshine but I really like the Riken Raptors that I put on my kid's SLK that I put them on my C230. They are quiet and have the rim protector bead feature, look good, handle good and are cheap, about $400 installed OTD. Riken is a division of BF Goodrich from what I've been told.

I am very pleased with the Riken Raptors so far. The around town handling is no worse than with the Michelins. Heck of deal at $390 otd.

I am just wondering of the tires everyone listed (really interested in the Toyo's) which one of these tend to not wear down really quick? I don't drive like a madman or anything but after city driving for about 10k-12k miles I noticed I'm already 1/4 way into the wear bars....and I noticed this recently because I took some photos of my car and I got these tires not too long ago...right now I run the Michelin's that came from factory...as I had a friend that hooked up tires for cheap but I'm not sure if he does that job anymore...thanks in advance guys.

i drive on 19" Toyo T1-R's. I love em. They handle remarkably well in the show. We basically had blizzard conditions in Chicago this past week.

get run-flat tires. so if I do stab your tire you wont notice!
pzero M/S!
one thing bad abt pirelli, is that eventually your tire will have a tumor. this happened to my maxima, my cousins maximan, my c320, and my buds srt-10

I think the T1-R's had the higest tread wear rating of the tires I was looking at, something like 280. I'm not expecting more than 30k miles on the T1-Rs.
I got 20k out of a set of Conti Sport Contacts. The rears were at the wear bars in the middle but plenty of tread on the edges, like they were overinflated, but I was running the recommended pressures. Fronts had 40% tread.

I've had Goodyear GS-D3's and Bridgestone Potenza G3's on my benz. The GS-D3's grip actually felt higher when it rained. Excellent tires and they look great too.

Same old same old
Well i was ignoring my wish for some new wheels now for quite some time.
Now the tires are down to their bare minimum and i will not buy new tires without buying new wheels.
So im back on this subject once again.
An addition i would like to add to posts that came like 6 months later, lol:
i had the Sedan 17's on the car with 14mm spacers, which bumped the tire out to a virtual size 259-40-17 and i had serious rubbing going over slight bumps.
So anything beyond 255 is out of the question.
I guess 255-35-18 should be fine in the rear.
But what about the front?
235-40-18 should roll smoothly as well correct?
What if i want to Add H&R Sport Springs.
Drops:
1.4 Front
1.3 Rear
THIS GOES OUT ESPECIALLY TO COUPE OWNERS
Thanks guys

a quarter mile at a time
spacers don't increase the width of the tire, rather they push them out. I see what you're trying to do with your calculation, but since the spacer only moves in one direction, and the width of the tire is centered, the caluclation may be closer to the width + 2x spacer width.
in any case. it's your spacer that's causing the issue here. If you go with 18's and get them with the proper offset, you should be able to fit 255's no problem. 265's are probably possible as well, but you might be throwing your speedo off too much.
Like someone said earlier in this thread, tires vary greatly, and you can sometimes find a 255 tire that actually has a wider treadwidth than a 265 tire.

Wut i am thinkin is to put those 245 tire on front.Does anyone put the 245 on the front?Am i able to do 245 with no rub? Thanks for any input.

Rolling diameter is not close enough to stock, so this most likely affect your speedometer. Not only that, but going 245 in the front means more rubber (width-wise), which would probably lead to rubbing (especially if you have aftermarket suspension).

Anytime you have a question about fitment, I suggest trying a tire size calculator. There are a couple threads in this forum that have links, if you search for it.

If so, you could mount your rear rims up front and find out.

What Mike was saying is, if the wheels are the same size, then you could mount the rims you currently have on the rear, in the front to test fitment and/or rubbing issues.

A box on 4 wheels
Yokohama- ADVAN Neova are hands down one of the best sticky tires out there. They will stick, but if your using them as daily driver they will run out very fast. Those are stock tires for Lotus Elise's.
