Another link for polarizer sheets. Someone reported that shipping was $5.00 for one sheet. http://www.3dlens.com/shop/lcdpolarizer.php

Not sure which would be the best for our application.

THE C350
Well as long as everyone's screens get to them fine I will be selling my extra one. I plan to sell it to make a little money for my time spent doing this. So once I know everything is good I will let everyone interested know and see otherwise you can order directly from them for like $130 if I remember correctly.

Trey you've been giving all these people pennies, too? Then I'm not special anymore.

Big difference from hanknum.

Thanks Trey - got mine last night. Hope to have it in this weekend or next week. Presently my screen looks like Hankum's. Has anybody looked at these new screens with polarized sunglasses yet?

I flew through the install, about 15 minutes start to finish (I've done this once before). Well, I turned the key and had a blank screen!!!

After further inspection, I realized that I had installed the LCD backwards! After flipping it around, it works perfectly.

Thanks Trey and don't feel bad about making a few dollars off one of these. I guarantee that someone soon is going to realize they can make 100% profit on these and start importing them to sell on eBay. Wouldn't be surprised to see another group buy in the forum this year for those late to the table on this one.

I can also verify that I have the polarization issue with my LCD. Should be an easy fix for ~$15.

Yep, HUGE difference. Money well spent.

I really didn't realize how bad mine was until I installed the new one. Can't wait to see how it performs when hot. I am thoroghly impressed so far.

The only difference I see is that the screen, when not lit, is blue. The original is orangish.

I did mine in about 10 minutes. Easy job, anyone can do it.

Thanks again Trey.

Hmmm, maybe I'll install it early, then. That's odd.

CRAP! Mine doesn't work.
Just a bright screen!

Put the old one back in...works fine. Odd the clock says 12:00 now.

You can't put the screen in wrong, it only has contacts on one side of the cable.

Now what?

One xtra pic for Tommy.
Slightly enhanced

Are these 2 extra connections on the ribbon cable supposed to connect to anything?
On the original screen, they are folded under and attached to something.

F*CK! the gardeners just showed up, blowing sh*t everywhere with their goddam gas powered blowers.
Doors open, keys in the ignition.
Ever have the urge to kill those f*ckers?

Let me just stop what the F I'm doing, reconnect the display in pieces so not to get an SRS error and park elsewhere. Suns abithces. Excuse me while I stuff the blower up his ****.

Ok, so once the gardeners left, I resumed where I left off.

They say 3rd time is a charm, but not in this case.
I tried one last time, but same result,
when I put in the new screen, I just get nice bright pixels.

Put old screen back in everything fine.
I triple checked.
Fortunately my old screen isn't too bad, especially now since it isn't hot.

What now Trey? What's the plan man?

On the original, you can't see what they're attached to? I guess I'll try to install mine this weekend and see how it goes. I do see what you mean on the two extra connections on the one I received too, but can't relate to how they work on the original without taking it apart (and the car's not with me - am picking it up tomorrow at my indy for the fix of my window regulator). If I can, I'll try to do it at lunchtime, but no guarantees.

I do like how you enhanced the screen, btw.

Looks like I need another screen, but it would be good to test it on another car 1st.

are you sure you did not put it in upside down that is exactly what it would look like.
Don't ask how I know

Yeah testing it with another car would be very helpful if possible to eliminate your cars IC as the cause. Since some cars are pickier then others.

I just got done installing mine and had the same exact problem. I thought maybe it was in upside down eventhough the plastic said topside.

I took my screen out and flipped it over and it was obivously wrong. Flipped it back the correct way and what do you know it works. I think in my case I didn't have it the connector all the way. Try flipping it over and then put it back the correct way or connect the cable before mounting the screen which is what I did the second go round.

It appears those two little contacts by themselves do nothing as on my old screen they are just stuck to the bottom.

I don't know what those things do but I am sure but just make sure when closing that case you don't catch them because then I am sure it won't work.
Yeah I would recheck the connector is in all the way and that both clams go in I have issues with one side of mine clamping and then the other one coming lose but only one the new screens the old one is fine.

See.. This is the reason why I didn't want to post info about where I got these screens in the first place. My intention are fixing this issue and not helping someone making a buck off it. I did a lot of research in finding this screen with this supplier from the european to calm the sense, since this car is made in the europeans. There were a lot of these that were selling from China and I had to cross them out one by one. haha.. Talk about fun, but I suppose it end up useful.

This is disappointing.. I know, I know, can't do much since we live in an opportunistic society.

Oh.. BTW. Thanks Trey for doing the group buy and making a lot of people happy!! I am happy to see that what was shared to you was put into good use.
Actually, everyone except should I say other than one, who is still trying to figure how to get it to work.

Blank LCD

As requested Trey,

Send these pictures to the company.

All blank bright screens.

I tried everything. I made sure connection was securely connected.

I also use a piece of that protectant film paper as a wedge when I stuck the ribbon cable back in. Didn't work.

It only has contacts on one side.
Putting in the other way just results in...
nothing. Blackness.
In my case, it's lighting up like a christmas tree.
I know it's in right, since
I can put the original back in and it works fine.
I triple checked, it no worky. I extra checked to make sure the traces are lining up. They are.
As the LED's 1st power up, I can vaguely see some characters on the screen for about 100 milliseconds, which quickly disappear as the thing lights up 100%.

Should I send it back to you Trey, have you test, and then ...
I mean, I can't send it back, I don't have the receipt.

I realize you aint making any money here,
but this is the PIA part of taking on a group buy.
We''re gonna have to work together since you're the original purchaser.

I was hoping you would test them all before shipping.
Once you've got the display out it's easy and any and all defective ones could've been
dealt with all at once. But alas, I guess you didn't imagine there might be defective ones.
