07 C230 Sport Limp Mode
Hello:
I have a 2007 C230 Sport & this car has gone into Limp Mode. Car bangs when put into Reverse or into Drive and will not go over 40 MPH. I put a code reader on it and got P2006 & P0718. MB would not tell me what those codes mean, they just suggested I tow it in which I did, I should hear something tomorrow but I am trying to plan ahead (for obvious cost reasons). The car is not doing anything else odd nor is it making any odd noises, outside of the obvious rev because it will not shift out of 1st gear. No fluid leaks, no smells, had a fluid change in Feb of 2017 (722.9 trans). Prior to this, periodically when starting from a stop (light or stop sign) the car would rev but not really pick up speed, I would have to put it in park & restart and it would be fine. This would happen only every now and again... Any information on this specific issue would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Jon - Just wanted to get back to you as I've got info from MB of Lynnwood (WA). What I need is a Conductor plate= 1,566 - Intake manifold=1,993 and they found a vacuum pump problem (although I've never seen any oil leaking) 588. Everything 4,500 & change. i thought I'd start with the Conductor to get the thing out of limp mode & do the Intake & vacuum pump in a month or so. Any more thought for me?

Well considering the original quote was 1,599$ and my I dependent was 1,100$ id say that is a healthy adjustment on behalf of MB. With a 2 yr warranty versus 90 days from the independent, all things considered I'll take that repair from the dealer all day.
