Oh and Tommy, they are plastic

The ability for something to take bit hits and not shatter is called toughness. The tougher a material is, the bigger impact it can take before failing.
ALL modern cars use polycarbonate for the headlight covers.

I'm not sure if it'll happen to this car, but I had a friend who had some frosties on a different car. He replaced them with clear lenses, and the light output he got shining on a wall was a donut. Literally, it was a freaking donut - a circular ring of light with a dark hole on the inside. You can just imagine what this was when shining on a road - pretty much nonexistant.
The frosted lines are what help create your light output based on the reflector design. Without them (and no proof of anyone here trying them), be wary of what your "new" output may be.
Hey Kimito,
I'm interested in OEM BiX for Coupe!

I just PM you.
Thanks,

I have a similar problem... (well at least to a certain degree)
My car '04 C200K had the normal frosted headlights and I then changed to a set of OEM bi-xenons... Had the XENONS=PRESENT thingie done...
The headlights work fine most of the time however, every now and then I have intermittent problems with them:
-One headlight not working... They alternate (L/R)
-One headlight lights up a few seconds later than the other... this usually happens when the right (driver side) headlamp lights first... the left (passenger) lights up a few second later
I also noticed that they seem to work better if I switch my lights on before I start the car... This is a funny one I know and was just wondering if anyone else experienced a similar problem when fitting xenons to a 'non-xenon' car

Price dropped today to $800 plus shipping.
our car was factory fitted with the bi-xenons... but the problem sounds similar,
it was gone when i replaced one headlight, the one that started first with not working ...
only thing i had to change was the igniter, wich is located inside the headlight... only sorry thing is, the igniter doesn't have a MB-parts number ...

I used the diy from mymbonline.com and took my headlight apart

hope this helps a bit ...
