Peet,

if it ballast - it will be $50 if ignitor then $699 (full light assamly) becouse ignator inside of the light body and to change it you have to open it up, which is not easy and dealer won't mess up with it. You may ask someone in indishop if they can do it. I have similar problem with R light ( flicks but stays on). There is instrution how to do it on the forum. i need have look.

regards,
CaptV

Ok im stupid, how do i remove the cover to change my bulb for the Bi-xenon Headlight?

I can open the bi-xenon cover no problem on the driver side, but on the passenger side, the bi-xenon cover has a screw beneath the the adapter thingy on the cover, which is very hard to reach. Also i heard from a friend that it's a special mercedes screw that only mercedes can open the cover.

So question is, do i really have to remove the bumper to open the cover?

Is there an alternative way or what type of screw driver i could use to open it?

sorry to tell you, but you got ripped off....it takes 2 minutes to change a bulb.

the black cover behind the lamp unclips, then twist off the connector and them twist off the ring holding the bulb in. reverse process, then you're done.

I tried myself but somehow just couldn't put it back on. So after I see they put it back on I think it was worthy tho.

Might take you a few minutes longer if it's your first time ...

Andy, changing bulbs should only cost you $7 at most, $20 is rip off

That requires a torx head, not sure of the size though. Should be available at any auto parts store.

It looks like a Torx screw. If you have a ratchet set, you should just fiddle with the different screws to see which one fits. It looks like it's a torx screw with a lot of treads (or whatever you call it).

my question is why the hell is there a screw there? both side should be a black snap-on cover that's easy to take off.

Quick Help Please! Bi-xenon with aftermarket ballast

Need quick help immidiately! I bought 2 aftermarket ballast, now because one of my bi-xenon headlight ballast was gone, and i think might as well change both OEM ballast (which i think is a piece of crap) to aftermarket ones. Now question is, the power to the bi-xenon is from the battery of the car directly output into the bi-xenon whole set. Thus i need to do re-wire for the ballast itself. Will the light flash after i change to an aftermarket ballast? Note that I have already done xenon present programming.

The bi-x are made by Hella, why don't you just by the ballasts from Hella? I don't know the part numbers, but you could always call them to find out.

i already had one of my ballast replaced last year, and they are very expensive. Also you need to feed them with those expensive light bulb else they will die fast. I don't want to go for any of those OEM trouble anymore. So i decided to get aftermarket ballast, feed it with cheaper light bulb.

For example, if you have been eating great and expensive food for years, suddenly you eat some cheap foods, i can garrantee you will get food poisoning right away. Same deal with ballast and bulbs. Also, aftermarket ballast and bulb these days are made better reliability than the OEM parts now. See how reliable Honda and Toyota are versus MB and BMW

Hella is a very reputable company and has been around for a long time. They also make aftermarket parts, so your statement is somewhat confusing.

I'm also confused what the ballast would have to do with the xenon bulb? Are you saying that you're thinking of changing the entire assembly (including the xenon bulb) to an aftermarket HID kit?
