I really like 6000K..8000K is t00 purple sometimes for some brands, too JDM IMO...

I thought all W203s have the same type bulbs for headlights and foglights. H7 headlights and 9006 for foglights.

how to install OEM Bi xenon headlights?

I went to mercedes dealership, they told me I need to rewire the whole car just to install the oem bixenons. Is it true? he said its not even possible to install in the c class which is not preewired for it. He also said something about c class headlights have the tilt function in the headlights thats why u can't install it.

Please give me feedback about it.

been discussed many many times

Yes it is definitely possible. No the auto leveling will not work without major retro.

buy them from steve.. I hear they are around $1500 a set. 1 trip to MB to activate Bi-X and you'll be set.

Why waste your time going to the dealer when you can just STFF ?

it's direct bolt on, just need to sent xenon to present, the only thing that won't work is probably the auto leveling

the auto leveling will definitely not work. Crazy they are 1500 for OEM ones but only 700-800 for the lighting package that includes Bi-X with auto leveling and heated headlight washers .....

good luck

Major retro is two sensors and a harness for around $300, its not that hard!

US and European motor vehicle safety standards require auto leveling and a headlight washer system for HID equipped vehicles. This is to prevent blinding oncoming traffic.

Dealers who tell you it can't be installed are unaware that Mercedes offers a kit to retrofit the auto leveling sensors and headlight washer system on W203 cars. The harness for the leveling sensors is a little hard to pull through to the rear of the car. There is one sensor on the front axel, and one on the rear. The SAM computes the angle and adjusts a metal shutter in the lamp housing. Replacing the front bumper for the washer is a bit harder, with the hardest part being the cost of the kit.

MJ50, who is Steve and how to contact him. I am interested in the retrofit for C320. Thanks in advance

Autoleveling and headlight washers is purely a European requirement, no such requirement in the U.S.

When Moviela or Buellwinkle post, it is always a worthwhile read. Two highly knowledgeable and respected members from whom one can learn much.

The self-leveling/washing equipment is kinda cool. At each startup, the lights go through a high-to-low sequence before settling in on their proper aim. When my in-laws plop aboard, the lights adjust their aim to account for the additional load and its affect on ride height and pitch. It’s a kick to watch the washers pop up from their nacelles and spray what seems to be the entire front of the car. I have not, as one member suggested, reversed the nozzles and confronted hapless pedestrians.

The self-leveling feature and washer system (option #600) were included with my OE xenon headlamps. Could be they were just another mandatory option. It that an oxymoron? They were the coveted frostys upon delivery. The bi-x retrofit went off without a hitch, as everything still works as intended. However, the ride height sensors necessitated some minor manual adjustments with the aftermarket springs and anti-roll bars that have been fitted.

FMVSS 108 link stipulates the lighting requirements for vehicle manufacturers selling their wares in the US. Thereafter, enforcement of lighting laws is done by the states, so there are about fifty different versions and interpretations.

They don't work completely fine, they just haven't hit their treshold of failures yet. Don't worry, it usually happens after a few days when you need it most. Bring some duct tape and bright flashlights and you'll be OK.

I have a Siemens kit that supposedly doesn't need to be programmed ... except sometimes it does. The lights flicker, I get warning messages, they won't light ... but after 2-3 minutes, they come on and work anyway. It's annoying, happens maybe every fifth or sixth start, and usually after the car has sat unused for a while. But it hasn't left me in the dark, either.

The bixenons are different, nothing setup in them that avoids programming.

Buell,

That was classic. I was laughing my head off! I'm working on a MAF issue right now, easy, but frustrating. Any case, thanks for the compliments on the Fiat. Labor of Love. Mostly Love.

I second the programming advice. It is there for a reason.

LOL so true...only a few hours later my lights start to flicker and error messages appeared!

the threshold of failure came very fast but i when by the MB stealer and paid $70 to program (1/2 hr work)...
