Dudes and Dudettes,
I have a couple questions for you'all,
Is www.customw204.com a legit shop? The reason I ask is, they have the Eisenmann exhaust listed for $1275.00.
Here is the background on why I am asking:
I have an 08 c300 4matic. Unfortunatly on my commute home last night I was rear-ended and the exhaust system was bent so the insurance company has agreed to purchase a new exhaust system for my vehicle. (Since the bumper and lower diffuser is screwed up too, I get to upgrade to the c63 rear diffuser.) The ammount the insurance company agreed to pay for the exhaust system is more than the cost of the Eisenmann or a c63 exhaust system so I can get either one. If I get the c63 exhaust, are there any piping modifications required for installing the c63 on my vehicle?
Please advise,
Thanks,
H

Never heard of them. Price sounds too good to be true because that setup sells for around $3000 everywhere else I've seen it.
What parts are you looking / needing to replace? Cats back?
A C63 setup might sound nice and quads look cool but I think it might hurt you on the low end of the power band. It's obviously larger and could unbalance the proper mix of flow capacity & exhaust velocity your engine needs.
Bottom line: Would you be willing to give up real performance for audible performance?
(That said, if I had the chance to strap on an OE C63 setup to my car, I'd atleast have to think long and hard about it! )
Another option (better exhaust note AND some performance) might be to pickup a set of RENNtech headers and stick with fixing your OE exhaust.

The insurnace adjuster just wrote down "Replace exhaust system" and he as 960 listed for the rt exhaust and pipe and 985 for the lt exhaust and pipe. I'm not sure if it is just the resonator back or further forward.
I just love the look of the c63 diffuser and quad exhaust. The car is already slow, its a 4matic so it has all that extra weight; so I wonder how much performance I would lose. I have a couple days to decide if I am going to have them order parts- the shop cant get me in till 14th of December.

How did you get your insurance to pay more than what is originally going to cost to fix/replace? Anyways Eisenmann makes the exhaust for the C63s so it's the same exact exhaust.

I would go with Krytech's advice. You still get the quad tips but don't risk the chance of performance loss.

Nothing is as easy as it seems. A properly tuned exhaust setup will offer the ideal blend of exhaust velocity at low rpms but also the least restriction at higher rpms. In order to achieve the high velocity (for maximum low rpm power) the piping can't be too big but it's can't be too small or you'll loose power on the high end. It's really all about the right balance.

I went through all the math and it turns out the difference in cost is about $60.00 more for getting the C63 mufflers versus getting tips fitted to the C300 mufflers (not including the labor for the custom flange to fit the C63 mufflers, nor the labor to weld the tips to the C300 mufflers, respectively).
decisions, decisions...
decisions, decisions...
