I think it depends on the tire you get. If you go with a "skinny" brand then you should be okay. I would worry about rubbing the shock more than the fender at that offset and width. Use the calculators from this thread and see what you think after that. Typically every running 19x9.5 rears run 265's and even then some are close once they are lowered on Super Sports.

I will be running Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus if I go 275....problem is we don't offer a 265 in that line.....I can go new Pilot Super Sport in 265, but the tires will last about 1 year less.....what are your thoughts on 255 vs 265?

You could get a fat 255 tire but at 9.5 wide I don't know how stretched that's going to look. If you are going all season why not go with the Conti DWS. I know they have them in those sizes 235 and 265.

Yea I'm not a fan of the 255 on a 19x9.5....was just curious as to a response.....I work for Michelin so cost of the tires is much less than deviating from the brand

So 265 in the rear is the way to go it seems....I have the springs here, wheels in the mail, last thing is order the tires....guess I'll go with the new Michelin Pilot Super Sports in 265...I was really hoping with that high 53 offset, that would be enough to allow me a 275....

I orded a set of wheels from Carlsson, here they are:
Front 8.5 x 19 offset 45 ----- 235/35R19 or 225/35R19 ????
Rear 9.5 x 19 offset 50 ------ 265/30R19 or 255/35R19 ????
I do not want to use any spacer. Can I use the stock wheel bolts? Thanks!

You don't need spacers. Spacers will push out wheels more lowering your offset. You do not change lug bolts because offset changes only if the new wheels you are getting requires cone seats. OEM are ball and most aftermarket wheels require lug bolts with cone/tapered seats. You should call whoever you ordered the wheels from and verify but I'm certain you will need m14x1.5 27mm shank (length) that are cone/tapered.

Loonie you think it will stick out that far? When I used a offset calculator I based it off recommended offsets everyone here agrees on.

My offsets only changed by 1mm in front and 6mm in back. Thats not much at all. Do you think with a 225/40/18 and 255/40/18 tires I would have problems? Im tryin to be flush without streching barly. I think people are very conservative with the offsets on this car as some pictures show 8.5 et35 in front, and it can be pushed a little more without looking "Hellaflush". Im only dropping on H&R sports so it shouldnt be a big drop.

My front should be fine with 8 et38 its the same clearance as Matt_Eurojerks Forgestar F14 with his 8.5 et44.
The rears might be cutting it super close tho.

you will clear w those specs, it will be tight but your running 18s so that helps. I personally would run 215/40/18 F and 245/35/18 rears w that setup. It will give u a little stretch and make wheels look better overall. It also depends on what brand tires u wanna run. If you were running skinny brand u could do 225/255, but if not go 215/245. I ran 35mm offset on my 2008 for over a year, I cleared stock height w 225/40/18 F and 255/35/18 back runnin sumitomos. When I had a blowout I had to get nexens thats all shop had where I was on vaca and they slightly rubbed inside fabric in the same size tire, 255 only in back. A week later I got falken 452's and it cleared again in 255 out back. Tire brand makes huge difference. When I dropped the car, I had to run 245 out back to clear, 18x9.5 w 35mm offset. I ended up switching wheels cause too much stretch for me, the lips were too exposed for my taste

I think you're right. You should be able to clear since the widths are shorter than the regular 9.5 people are running. And listen to jimmy about the tires. He knows his stuff

Great. I think I would prefer to run 225/255 because those are the specs MB recommends. Ill run Falken 452 as I had them before and are a pretty decent tire. I should be fine if you rubbed with 255 on 18x9.5 et35. Since ill be 18x9 et38 should clear ill go skinny tire just to make sure

I do have a spare set of 215/40/18 and 225/40/18 lying in my garage tho...

If any of you remember, I was redoing my LMs reverse mounted (wheel face mounted through the back) Reverse mounting also changes the offset by 15mm. Found a lot of corrosion behind where the face was sitting on so I had the lips redone as well as weld one of them which had a small hole like crater. Just picked them up today and installed gold bolts plus red bbs caps. Sending the fronts back tomorrow to shave off 3mm off the hub.

Here's the wheels before:

FRONT: 18x9 +42
REAR: 18x10 +50

Wow.. high offset BBS LMs really destory the step lip of them. Good job im sure your going to be HELLAFLUSH now!

It's not really the high offset that killed the look of these step lip but the mounting of the wheel face. It was front mounted in the before pictures and reverse mounted in the after.

But if they were low offset to begin, it would have a nice step lip and reverse mounting it would give you a gigantic lip so I guess you can say you are half right.

It depends on your wheels. You may need conical, spherical or flat seat lug bolts. Just make sure to ask your tire shop.
