Porsche 991S, Cayenne S, 1972 BMW 3.0CS E9 Coupe
Personally I think Mercedes new design language is bizarre and no longer cohesive; it's all over the map. I bailed out on the brand after the 2009 model year (W211 E63.) Although my partner recently ordered a 2013 C350 sport sedan and she's driving that now (after owning BMW 3 series for the last decade.) She felt the W204 has a more straightforward classic design like her previous BMWs. After seeing these W205 renderings, she's right....

No thanks. Its ok
but there is going to be a problem. The 2014 CLA (Pics just released) is basically the same size and looks way better and its cheaper.
The CLA45 AMG will have 350+ hp and AWD and starts at $50K... sign me up for a new DD

Waiting for W204 Facelift
(for design ) like ; bigger inside , baggage more leg and head ; nice rear and front light design (small S)
not like ; shape that going through side . I would not want my car like cutting from side by side

From very covered up cars running on test around this neck of the woods the design is not as swoopy as that. The car is more upright & sharper than that.
More like this although detail might be different.

I agree that the design is more disjointed and not as elegant. I don't like how the hood no longer sits above the grille opening, creating a unsightly seam line on the hood.
The CLA-class will be much more desirable in comparison.
Luckily these are prospective renderings and the actual design will hopefully be better executed, much like the recently revealed facelifted 2014 E-class coupe:

I completely understand the desirability of visual appeal. But, I am truly astounded at the idea of giving up the engineering superiority, performance, safety, comfort, and overall excellence of a Mercedes for a Kia or similar just because something as superficial as a hood or fender slopes one way instead of the other. Within the parameters of what just about any car company researches in product design clinics, it's all reasonably acceptable, and the most important differences are under the skin. Shouldn't that be where we look to assess the W205?
