Pricing confirmed with an MB official.
Cheers!
$49,515 + Lighting Pack, Hands-free Pack, Interior Pack, Multimedia Pack, Panorama Sunroof and Electric Roller Sunblind for rear window.
Pretty much an E-Class in both price and equipment.
Question is how much more is a E400 with the same equipment. Forget the E350.

Surely, they want to get a LOT of these things on the road. At these prices, however, I just don't see a LOT happening (absent excellent MF and residuals for people who lease, like myself).
wow. this puts my c400 order in jeopardy. i was thinking it would come in at 43,000 or so. this is WAY too expensive considering i have about 12k in options. im not willing to budge on many things as i feel that the options are what make the car so enticing in the first place. unbelievable
maybe somebody can help me out with something. does the 7 inch screen without comand use the same interface/menus as the 8.4 inch comand screen? does it still have the 3d view of the car and all the same menu layouts? or is it an entirely different interface

I'm slightly surprised at the price jump, but it makes sense, given the pricing of CLA (perhaps the mid-cycle FL will include a higher quality interior). And given that the W205 seems to be of exponentially higher quality than the W204. Just reaffirms my usual choice for the stripped model.

One thing that is bothering me is that I keep seeing 2 different sets of torque numbers for the c300. Is it 229 lb ft or 273? It had better be 273. Hopefully 229 was just a typo from the previous model.
EDIT: MBUSA replied to me on instagram and reiterated 273 lb-ft of torque

I currently have a fully loaded 2013 c350 with Amg Sport plus package and sticker price was $55,000 a year ago.
For 2015, c400 (c350) gets you a twin turbo v6, bigger car and way better interior than anything in it's class. You also get standard 4matic. That's still a good deal considering all the car you are getting.
Personally if I was going for an E-class, I would get the E550 which is not in the same price bracket as a c400. If I were to go up in class, I would want the bigger engine to go with the car.
I may drop the 319 Lighting Package since I'm not sure how much I need the active headlamps, and I'm rethinking the 463 HUD Display. Those alone are $1800 combined

Oh I agree completely. The E550 is gone and trying to find a leftover 2014 would be very difficult.

On the other hand, price of the C400 4matic is outrageous. They shouldn't force 4matic on people since that is at least a $2000 option. It would make the C400 much more attainable.
yeah, almost $50,000 STARTING. WOW.
I get the whole CLA, "moving the C 'up'", yadda, yadaa, but OMG.
even when the RWD c300 arrives, it's THREE THOUSAND dollars more than the current offering. not too sure about all this. I think current c class owners will start to appreciate their car more.
look at it this way....
i'm on the MB car lot, I can choose a preowned 2014, with good options, for probably $34000.
or, move up to the 2015, with options, for, let's say $45000.
hmmmmmm........that's a HELL of a jump.
their pricing should be enticing for an upgrade, not an insult. you are completely moving into e class territory, VERY easily. I really think all the numbers above should be about $1500 to $2000 cheaper. still more expensive than current, but not OMG more.
GRANTED......the c300 4matic is only $1000 more than the 2014 model. BUT, the "cheapest" 2015 c class (when it arrives in 2015) is $3000 more than what the 'cheapest' model right now is. that's a pretty steep jump IMO.

I think all the "reviews" and first looks had the c400 with airmatic. At one point, I myself though it came with it as well. It's the reviewers that had those cars, but it's all they were supplied with. Some of them probably implied that the c400 was equipped 'standard' with this feature. It's looking more and more that the c400 is the same as the c300 with a v6 and sport/p1 standard.
question is, is that worth it? not sure, given the c400 is over $8000 more than the c300 (4matics, of course).
48590
2800 (driver assistance)
990 (head up display)
2300 (leather interior)
800 (lighting)
460 (rear camera standalone)
970 (parktronic)
925 (freight)
$57835 - that's a car with no nav and no sunroof. Get those and you are in the low 60s. Oh, and you could even toss another $1200 onto it for the airmatic which was supposed to be standard!
MB has to be kidding us, its obvious they want to place most C sales into the C300.

I've always thought that the base W204s were actually a rather good value. It'll be interesting to see how much MB will be willing to discount the price once the cars have been out of a period of time....
Also leaves space for the C250 Bluetec to come in under the C300 but above the CLA. =)

I don't think they will budge much for the new C class. Not sure how I feel about a C300 with a 4cylinder turbo for almost 50K.

Having said that, Mercedes should NOT have created a sport package ala S class to get the more aggressive front and rear bumpers. The current package on the W204 is great where having sport appearance is a free option and you can add the wheels etc you want as an accessory. I know that the sport package now adds even more sport touches, but not sure if its worth that money.
Oh and don't get me started that the destination change went up even though they are now shipping from alabama instead of germany/SA
After seeing its performance here:
It's now a true rival to the 335's and the S4's. And it's got a much nicer interior and more standard equipment to boot.
