Shopping 2019 GLC 63s
For $2K more, I much prefer the C450. The interiors ROCK!! I will still visit my buddies at Renntech or Brabus for a few more ponies once the mad scientists get ahold of the vehicle.

No need to wait, The C450 tune is exactly the same as the c400 tune since its the same engine. All they do is reflash the "lesser" AMG tune which separates the 400 and 450. I like the C450 seats too but I dislike the "boy racer" red stitching on black seats. So, if you prefer a 450 you can get your tune right now: 379HP and 409 TQ. On the 450, however, the gains will feel more modest making the price a little less palatable. Its a little harder to justify 2000 dollars for just 12 HP and 26 TQ

I appreciate the C400, but there is much more to this car than a bit of extra horsepower. It is the suspension that I'm really after. Add to that the steering, transmission and 4wd split, and I'm guessing it will be a much more pleasant car to drive "sportingly".

Yeah, I'll take the 33/67 torque bias over the 45/55, and the better brakes/shifting/suspension... but I agree...the interior is the real reason. Designo leather w/ AMG Performance seats and Silver Fiberglass trim was my main motivation... otherwize, I would have went with the standard leather and Black Ash on the faster car - a C63.

In a 2013 F30 335i M Sport right now and thankfully my lease is up in September so very interested in the C450... couple questions after reviewing this thread:
1. Can you order staggered summer performance tires (e.g. MPSS) for the standard 18's at no cost instead of the all seasons?
2. Are the standard all seasons run flats or does the car have a spare in the trunk?
3. Is a small sunroof standard on the C450? or is there no roof unless you opt for the pano at roughly $1500?
4. Is there any reason to get the Heads up Display if you don't get the Multimedia pkg?
5. In the US, are the inserts on the standard seats the dinamica (alcantara) material to keep you from sliding around? ... I'm hoping the answer is yes as I miss my old CTS-V seats, even though they had very limited bolstering
6. If you don't get the multimedia pkg, is the interface for adjusting drive modes / individual settings limited in any way on the smaller screen ?

Regarding the red stitching, I also am not a fan, which is why my order specifies black leather and black stitching. A small point, but there it is. Also, run flats, no spare. And I saved 1.5k by ordering with no panorama roof, plus, my last 6 cars had sunroofs and I probably didn't use them 6 times. Looks like we all have different preferences, but both cars equally will able be to get us our speeding tickets!

1. If the sales rep wants your business he/she will do whatever is required. I almost had to swap-out the rims on my build but I the part became available just before my order freeze for production.
2. The tires are MOE (mobility extended). Supposedly a more comfortable ride than true run flats with any reduction in air pressure. There is no spare in the trunk or extra cash in your wallet after shelling-out $300+ for a new tire.
3. There is no standard sunroof. You have to either order the panoroof or do without. I am with GJ and hardly use a sunroof. Plus it reduces the backseat headroom and there have been a lot of issues with the pano glass cracking with extreme heat.
4. I did not order the multmedia package but ordered the head-up display. I thought the multimedia was overpriced for what you got. I wanted Navigation so I ordered Garmin Mapilot (SD card add-on). The only advantage I saw was Navigation is integrated and not on an SD card. I did not want the bigger screen, I did not need the hard drive for music files, or have a need for Gracie Note.
5. The standard US seats is the alcantara. I am not sure if there was any purpose beyond comfort and aesthetics.
6. The drive modes are not effected if you do not order multimedia. I hope that I am not PO'd that I did not order multimedia package once the car arrives

First time poster. Does anyone know if the C450 will be available for European Delivery? Would be nice to enjoy the new car on the Autobahn and a trip to Europe might tip the balance with my better half! Thanks

You again! How many times must you be told on this forum that the C450 is way more than just a C400 with an engine tune? Why do you think it is necessary to continue trying to justify your C400 purchase? Look back at all your post. First, the C450 doesn't exist, then no way MB would discontinue your beloved C400 after just one year, then the C450 exist, but it will be 15 grand more expensive than the C400, blah blah blah. Dude, it's time to give up, enjoy your C400, and I am sorry that the C450 proves to be a way better value than the C400, but that's life

Has anyone received a build date on a C450 that is not Polar White with red leather interior? The reason I ask is that I have noticed that all of the C450's for dealer stock seem to be Polar White with red leather interior.My dealer had 3 450's for stock and were all as I stated above.I am thinking that MB may be building a batch all with the same equipment for dealer inventories.My dealer changed one of his designated for inventory to my choice which was iridium silver with black leather interior.I am thinking that maybe all customer orders will be built after the inventory cars are built.

The dealer training unit (from the video that I posted here) was Polar White and Cranberry Red leather, but the build that turned red and went into production over the weekend is Obsidian Black Matallic and Cranberry Red leather.

I am going to take a shot at this (it's completely an educated guess)...
If we go to the AMG site and look at the Performance Studio Optional Extras on the C 63 Sedan here. We see the following:
Notice the VEHICLE PICK UP AT THE AMG CUSTOMER CENTER AFFALTERBACH under TECHNICS.
If we change that to any of the C 450s (C 450 AMG SEDAN for example):
Nothing...
If that page on the AMG site is any indication, I would say no (but again, complete guess).

Were you able to get the PO number from the dealer when you ordered?
If your only communication with him was the initial order, I wouldn't hesitate to call him and ask him for the build date and current status.

I have never seen such sour grapes. You really need to let this go man. The C450 is more than just an engine upgrade over the C400.

Thanks for the correction, at least for me here in the US. I believe the Canadian document that was posted on the forum last month listed heated seats as standard (which was in my head), so seems country specific or a change since that doc was out.

The original question we were answering were around the standard seats which are the Alcantara-like Upholstery and not ventilated. Obviously 318 is an option and contains leather surfaces and ventilated seats (as noted previously in this thread, ventilated in certain combinations).
