I was originally told it would be built on 12/9. And it would be at the dealer in 2 weeks. I got a call 12/11 telling me to pick it up. So it got built before the 9th but it wasn't built when he checked on it on 12/1. So it shouldn't take more than a 2-3 weeks

Did anyone confirm the amg door pins. I placed an order on amazon from the c450amg.com page. I didn't try pliers yet, but they didn't come loose by hand. but I haven't put much effort into it as I wont have the pins until next week.
I did order up some amg valve stem covers for the wheels as well.
and btw, this whole 1000 mile break in period is very tough to follow thru with. you just want to step on it. but ive been pretty good about it.

I hope you'll get it soon. I m sick of waiting for mine: last news is production between 14th and 23rd of December but doesn't go out from factory before January 4 th. Is this due to MB people leaving in holidays ??

Yeah I'm sure there is definelty easier driving that would be preferred but it's tough
The manual does seem like it's the same across all platforms as well. It talks about changing the differential fluid after 1,500 miles or something. But the dealer said that's only for the c63 and c63s
I've never "broke" a car in. So I'm trying to be easy as I can on her

Photos of my c450. I wish I'd understood it didn't have distronic plus or the trunk closer, but I was so overwhelmed after the test drive I didn't notice! I went in for a c400 and was shown this car.

yeah, I work for a general contractor, so I'm in and out of job sites a lot so my shoes would dirty up carpet fast.
I have black towels down now to protect the carpet until I can get the rubber ones in.

Greetings All!
So my 2010 S550 is in the shop for a blown strut and a bad cluster. The strut is on national backorder so I'm in a base C300 loaner. I've had it for a week now and I have to say the little bugger is growing on me. I've found myself thinking, if it had a better engine (the turbo four just sounds crude to me) and better equipment and finishes, I could see myself in this car. For what I'm paying monthly on the S Class I could go pretty deep into a nice new C.
Naturally, I go right to the configurator looking for the "best" C Class, and I think the C450 fits the bill. Honestly a C300 loaded up and with the AMG sport appearance package probably would do it, but I can't do that 4 banger. Where's a NA 6 when you need one? The C63 seems like overkill (which I guess is the point) and I like some comfort in the seats. Those AMG Performance seats make my back ache just looking at them.
You guys that have a 450, how is the ride quality on the various suspension settings? Which setting do you most commonly use? How many of you use this as your DD? Still love the car or has the novelty started to wear off? Thanks in advance for any replies.

I thought the four felt and sounded like a joke.
I traded a 2011 c300 sport for my c450 and love it.
It's not as smooth and luxurious as my wife's 2015 gls 400, but it goes like a Scalded dog.
My cranberry leather seats are amazingly comfortable.
Comfort provides a decent ride on Seattles lousy streets and sport plus, tried only for short spurts, still provides a decent ride.
I didn't want a body larger than a C and I wanted a real engine.
It's an amazing car and I highly recommend it, though the ride will be harsher and louder than your S.

The S is not fun. It's a rewarding car to float around in, and very comfortable, but it doesn't like being tossed around, and it doesn't feel "special", like say a 600 or an AMG S63/65 does.
I think the size difference would be the biggest adjustment. Not much back seat in the C but then again I'm down to one kid at home, and my wife has a new Q7 for family hauling duties if needed (although the S is always the car of choice when I'm doing the driving. Not an Audi fan).
My dealer has both a C63 and C450 in the showroom. I'm going to go see them tomorrow.
