Trying to decide wether to add the night package to my order. I still have time to make changes and $200 seems fair for somebody else to do it. The look of your car is awesome and now you have me thinking about powder coating the wheels. It IS all in the details. Unfortunately there are always more details.
Night package is probably a good idea but at the same time, if you want all the silver and chrome to be black like mine (and the rocker inserts) you will still need to do a little vinyl work. To do all the vinyl work on my car cost me about $250

And the $250 was for someone else to do it. I trusted my self with my key, but not doing the vinyl on the car 😂

Do you still have the mufflers removed Bret? How is it living with that setup?
I want to do a pair of exhaust dumps in the worst way, but I don't think there's enough room at the down pipes.

I just traded the muffler delete for an awe tuning touring setup. Much more refined sound, no drone at the low rpm. Will be posting sound byte to the site as well as a full review within the week

My lease is ending soon on my GS350. Considering the C450 and just got a lease quote back from one dealer. Looks like they're only discounting about $2000 off MSRP. No good deals right now?

That is an offending offer, TBH. 15% off is easy to come by at the moment.

Not necessarily. Not all MB dealers are as desperate to sell cars and lose money on the cars they sell as some other dealers might be, and not all customers are as desperate to make sure their MB dealers make no money and/or lose money on their transactions. There are many factors that go into the deals offered by various dealers, aside from "a few people from different states said they got X% discount from different dealers".

If anything, a 15% discount off MSRP on a 2016 C450 seems like a best case scenario, and hats off to anyone who got such a deal. Considering the current C-Class incentives, that's almost the same as an MB corporate discount.

A $2,000 discount on a C450 isn't something I'd consider to be an offensive offer, and I definitely don't think there's anything offensive about a dealer trying to take a shot at making some money on a deal. After all, MB dealers are technically for-profit organizations and aren't obligated to start every negotiation under invoice.

However, that $2,000 discount was likely just a first-pass offer and I have little doubt that 2SwiFt29 could get his dealer down lower if he tried. A first-pass quote certainly isn't always indicative of the deal you'll end up with. In fact, it rarely is.

A discount of somewhere between 8% and 12% would be respectable and fair, if a 15% discount is out of reach for him from his local dealers.

Thank you for the responses. It gives me something to work with knowing that some of you guys are getting that much off. I'll definitely see if he can rework something for me.

Tell me this isn't ridiculous? Or is this really what people are paying?

You can certainly get a better deal than this, and as I said before, I'm guessing this is the first lease quote offered by your dealer. At this point, you should be politely negotiating with your sales rep to see what can be done. Tell them you're set on getting this model with that configuration of features, but that's much higher than what other dealers are offering. If they know you're serious and potentially ready to make a commitment in the form of a deposit, they'll be more than willing to work with you. Also, some dealers try to avoid sending their most aggressive price offers via email or over the phone, since many customers will do what you're doing -- bring their offers elsewhere as leverage to see about getting a better deal.

Your physical presence at the dealership is typically the best leverage you have in getting the best deal possible, and if they know you're actually ready to buy/lease, it's unlikely that they'd let you leave without making a deal -- or at least without giving you their best, rock-bottom numbers. If you're not ready to move forward with something for another month and are just gathering information for now (or if you tell them you're doing this), your dealer will be less likely to get super aggressive.

Depending on your budget and what you think is fair, tell them where you need to be. Ex:

- You'll only consider the deal if the selling price of the car comes down another $3,500
- Your max budget is $875 per month with $3,000 due at signing. If they can't get there, you'll have to look elsewhere
- Etc

I agree 100%. I would never criticize anyone who try to get 15 or 20% off, but for me, I believe in a fair deal. A fair deal is when (1) the customer gets a reasonable price, (2) the dealer makes a reasonable profit, and (3) the salesman makes a commission. Maybe I'm old fashion

To be clear I put 3000 down and walked out with a 36month 12k lease for 750 a month including service and state taxes here in california about 2 weeks ago.

Corrected I put 3k down not 2500. 2500 put my payment at 765 I think. When I get home I will try to take a pic of my deal and post it.

I have to concur being onsite really helps and be upfront with your expectation. Know what your payment should be. I personally find the mbusa.com build tool and payment estimator to be a fantastic guide on where to start your pricing caps on the car you want for example if mbusa.com build out of a 65k c450 with 12k miles for 36 months in your zip code says 850 a month with x down. That's your benchmark to get a better deal with a local dealer.

You might want to expand your search radius to include more dealers.
I did and got a better deal on a 2017 C43 than you are being offered.

I've seen some really crazy deals on here.

I was happy with mine until I came here. I still got a pretty good deal, but not the 15-16% that some are reporting. Walked away with ~13.5% off.

I think 13.5% off is a great deal, just also believe 15% is very feasible if someone is diligent in pushing a dealer.

At this point I don't believe many dealers are still realistically looking to profit much at all on the C450...they have an overage in supply and want to move it off the lot ASAP to move on. Cut their losses, per se. Even if you buy one at or below their cost, they profit from add ons, fixed fees, etc...so they should break even or close to it at worst. Additionally, you save them any current or future carrying costs that might come if the car has been sitting there too long.

Anyway, I think 15% is a great target...but anything down to 12% should be satisfying.

Tell us your region and have folks in area chime in.

Everybody in the world is on this forum and discount is regional.

Some regions with low volume may not dish out as much discounts.

But as 2016 winds down, I would expect more than $2K discount and less than 3% lease rate.

Thank you everyone for your feedback. I definitely will be there in person to negotiate but because of how further it is than the closest MB dealer here, I wanted to see what kind of numbers they were going to start with before I make my decision. I got another quote from another dealer and they were able to make a way better quote than the first dealership I got from. Will keep you guys posted.

I'm sure my dealership still made money selling me my C450 at a 16% discount, and giving me $34,000 for my 2015 C300 Sport 4Matic. I even got to keep my silver 19" AMG 14 multispoke wheels...which I recently learned the fronts WILL NOT fit my C450...meh.

At least I'll be able to sell that set and put it towards a new 19" takeoff set from ebay that will fit my car.

hahah, actually. does/did - because it does have it and I think? it was standard.

but can;t make any promises on it being standard as it may have existed in some other underlying package and I was too lazy to actually research it.

Sorry.
