Driver’s Side Front Axle Creak/Squeak

I just picked up a 2014 CLS63 S AMG a couple of weeks ago, and I have noticed a squeaking/creaking noise coming from the front left axle. It occurs when entering/exiting the vehicle, while driving the vehicle, and if you just push down on the hood or rock the vehicle while it’s sitting. Anyone else experience this?

Try lubricating the rubber bushings in the suspension and see if the noise stops.
Are you in a dry climate?

No, I’m in a very humid climate. The car has been owned primarily on the east coast, but I’m in the Ohio Valley region. I’m going to get the car on the rack tomorrow and get some lubricant on the bushings as that seems to be the consensus solution. Thanks!

Thanks for linking that other thread. I’ll mention the control arm bushings to the tech and see if he can get them replaced under warranty. If not, I’ll try lubricant first to see if that helps. If not, replacements will be ordered.

use a silicone/rubber grease, petroleum -based lubes will make the rubber swell and squeeze the metal harder, making the squeak worse.

I had a suspension creak for over 5 years. Long story, lots of drama. Not your problem. Car was always quiet after going through a car wash or on a rainy day, though.

In the end, the culprit was the left bushing on the front anti-sway bar. To diagnose, the tech disconnected the sway-bar link and drove the car. Noise gone. Sway bar replaced under warranty. Quiet now for months. . .
Bushings cannot be replaced without replacing the entire anti-sway bar. Not cheap on 4Matic cars due to labor required to change it, but the peace of mind would be worth the price to me.

Thankfully I have warranty coverage. My day was cut short and too hectic to have it checked out today, but I’ll get it on the rack tomorrow and hopefully get it fixed ASAP.

I had this problem with my CLS63 and found it to be a bushing migration on one of the control arms. I could have pressed it back in but I just replaced the control arm. I wrote about it in one of my post. simple find and simple fix.

Everyone gets this, it's your driver's side control arm. Mine had to be replaced on my CLS.
