Question Need help calculating...

Ok I know there are methods out there but none are known by me so I ask the forum for help. How do you calculate 0-60 times on a track slip?

Cool. I plugged in your times from your track day slip (#4) and it shows you had a 0-60 time of 4.81. Very nicely done.

that was with the K&N filter what about the Green filter result of 13.46@103? Did you use the weblink above or another service?

I used the link posted here and input the numbers for car #1 on the 4th slip.

why wouldn't you have used his fastest pass, which is the left hand side of slip #1? This one is 8.70@81.84 in the 1/8th. This shows a 0-60 time of 4.68 in the calculator.

Oops. I thought that 4 was the fastest from my initial read of that thread. I guess I need to look closer at the slips.

Geez, 4.68 is downright awesome for a stock C32.

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
Something

does not compute here.
almost 5/10 from an air filter?Oem filters have proven to flow more air and cleaner air then any k/n.So how would a car pick up nearly 50-60 h.p. by a simple filter change? Not to doubt your figures, but that would be like a short shot of juice.

I agree completely that it isn't what I expected (looks downright ) - but I believe he did runs with all three filters on the exact same day (so hopefully weather stayed fairly consistent and wasn't a factor), and the filters were the only "variable" changed in the car's setup.

If you had unlimited resources and really wanted to do a more scientific test, you'd probably have to do 15 runs, 5 with each filter, throw out the best and worst times for each and then average the other three - and when you're collecting the data, the driver shouldn't be aware of what filter is in the car on any of the runs. Then, to top it all off, do about 9 dyno runs (3 with each filter), and see if it supports the 1/4 mi times.

That being said, it'd be a hell of a lot of work, time & money, just to prove/disprove filter effectiveness - I applaud c32used's filter trials, because I for one wouldn't have put that kind of work into checking out filters, so he's certainly improved my knowledge with his results... strange as they may appear to be.

Hey this thread was suppose to ask for help calculating the 0-60 times maybe you read my other thread but even so it only shows about a fifteen hp not 50-60

I took the two popular filters to the dyno and all three to the track so what better comparison right? Keep in mind the C32 already from factory comes with 349hp/333tq. By taking the filters to the track I simply proved factory filters for the C32 are more air restrictive so I am only coming out with track figures not hp figures on the last thread refering to the filters on the track that all. I am going by the feel of driving and numbers of the results.

Guy I am left speachless in the begining of this thread I said my car is stock and we ran each filter 3 times minimum each on a track but maybe I should have included that the track was rented from 9am-3pm and only four cars used it that day during the rented time. I did at least 8-12 runs in an hour and my friend did like 20+ runs through the entire rented time on my car#4 and different cars also. Keep in mind that the C32 with OEM filters is suppose to be capable of 4.9 and 13.5s quarters so don't know what the big fuss is aboutI am car #4 in the time slips any other is either car #1 W211 Wayne(ChicagoX) #2 W210 Samas #3 Modded C32 AMG-Jerry and me #4 stock C32. These figures are not altered in anyway and all are based off runs completed on my car #4 in some slips it shows another car but my run was purely for results not drag racing.

It says that I have a 0-60 time of 4.07. Sounds too low, but I'll take it.

1/8 mile time 8.3481
1/8 mile speed 85.88

Jerry with all the work you had done I can't see why its not possible. You were able to best or hang with E55 in prime conditions so don't feel doubtful imo.
