You sir, are correct! From Denso's Website:

Q. Why are there different heat ranges? Which one should I use?

A. Part of your spark plug’s responsibilities, in addition to firing a spark, is to remove heat from the combustion chamber. This is accomplished by channeling the heat through the insulator material and metal housing. From there, the heat is transferred to the cylinder head where the engine cooling system can go to work. A spark plug’s heat range is its ability to dissipate heat. The “colder” the plug, the more heat it can channel out of the combustion chamber. In a performance application, colder heat ranges may be necessary to handle the extreme temperatures brought on by higher compression ratios, forced induction, and high RPM’s. While “Colder” plugs may seem to be the way to go, please remember that the spark plug must achieve its “self-cleaning” temperature where it can burn off fuel and carbon deposits. Otherwise, the plug could “foul out” where it is prone to misfiring and poor acceleration. A plug that is too “hot” can overheat, also causing power loss, detonation, pre-ignition, and possible engine damage. A good, general rule of thumb is to start with the factory recommended heat range. For every 75 to 100 hp you add to your engine, you may go to the next colder step. DENSO heat ranges move up as they get colder; 16 would be our hottest Iridium Power plug, 34 would be our coldest (ranges; 16,20,22,24,27,31,34)

Hey,
I am new to this site and looking for the best info on how to get some more extra poney out of my 02' C32. I have read all on this forum about the ASP, and the Code 3 pulleys? Also do you suggest a tune after the pulley? I am located in Utah, does that present a problem for tuning? Any good deals on pulleys on this forum? Thank you in advance for all your help.

For those of you running 178mm crank pulleys, your power increase is finally here. In the next run of pulleys, we are also producing a mid-sized pulley that works in conjunction with your crank pulley, without the need for an injector upgrade. We tested this dual pulley setup for six months with great results. The power increase we saw on the dyno was +13/30 peak, +30/36 curve, all rear wheel numbers. That was power created over the 178mm dyno. We will have a new page up shortly for this product.
On the website it saids he's about to release a mid size pulley, but i assumed it was a old post, since there's no talk of it on any new threads.

yah, its been up for about two weeks

the mid-size pulley IS a supercharger pulley. it is just slightly larger than the current s/c pulley. its one or the other. the new midsize was made for people with 178s to safely run stacked without crazy tuning for fuel issues or upgrading the fuel system

i think it makes about 20psi before a tune. Brandon tells me it was made for those with 178s who want to run similar boost or make similar power....and apparently there are no fuel issues and A/F is nice. i think you might need the belt wrap kit for this.

I'm interested in the belt wrap kit, but it's not for sale yet apparently.

Jturkel, do you notice a big difference with it on? Any significant gains?

TIA!

That's a pretty big conversion. Not to mention to make a fail-safe kit with no problems first time around is a hard task to achieve.

I have not dyno'd with it. You can definitely feel a difference. Brandon estimates about 7-10whp or about .5 lb of boost. It helps eliminate belt slip and, somehow, the car seems to shift faster, particularly during WOT

what does TIA stand for?
