drag question

you are getting on it to spin the tires and engaging the motor/supercharger. so yes, your temps will go up when doing that. in fact, IATs will go up while sitting in the staging lanes as well unless you split your system. even if you turn your car off in the staging lanes and push (which i used to do), i noticed the temps would go up (via my gauge) because all the heat in the engine bay is not being counteracted by the efforts of the cooling system leading to actually higher IATs.
however, spinning the tires is important. Heating the tires will help maximize traction for your launch.

Here is what happens when you don't warm up your tires.

Things did get better for me that day and I managed to complete the 1/4 mile in 12.52.

I have a Quaife lsd. Here is a video of my second best run that day (12.66)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aerbO0SxCyU
RobAMG,
Here is a log file from the 12.66 run.
http://www.mediafire.com/?migzzvog21d
The outside temperature was just above 60*F. I have already made about 10 passes by then so my starting IAT was 104*F. During the run the IATs do go up to 156*F but are quickly down to 106*F -104*F. I have a split cooling system via a Code3 reservoir, PTE 180*F Tstat and a 10* fan mod. As Josh noted earlier, with the proper mods you should not have to worry about stressing the system for a short period of time since it will recover quickly. What are your cooling mods?

May be all that turkey is pressing on your brain and it is hard for you to say it. So, let's try again. Repeat after me. This video demonstrates what may happen at the race track when the driver does not warm up the tires before the run. This will result in the car being in the other lane pointing at the wall and only super advanced driver skills will prevent the car from touching that wall. ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Know yours has run 12.52 @ 110.7 - a fine combination you’ve assembled, Lenin.
Experienced tank slappers at the ‘strip and looped some of mine far worse on road courses.
Pure chance that no one posted my foibles on YouTube.
Appreciate you disclosing your Zeitronix data. Another respected and contributing member shared his as well.
Only hope the Mrs. clicked “checkout” on the link I conveniently sent her so one for mine is under the Christmas tree.

lets keep the flamming to a minimum. I don't want this to become the w203 forum. i'm sure there a lot of mistakes people have made, that i'm sure if it was post on youtube...would make us look less then spectacular.
