Quote: +1 i think he'd be happy if anything though. he really wanted it to work, but had no idea it was possible. thanks robert.

Glenn has been on Spring Break in FL and this is my first log-in.

Yes Mike, I DID want it to work. Those are not C32 #s on a tune BUT I'd certainly take 20 RWHP if thats what you got!!!

Can I say I'm impressed? HMMMM..... Well, in fairness to Mike and Jerry, I had called Jerry about 2 weeks ago and had an idea as to what the results would be. Now it becomes an issue of, "would I pay $ XX.XX dollars for less than 20 RWHP. " I don't know. Its now a matter of cost/benefit analysis. If the flash is less than $ 400 bucks, I'd say it is. If its more than that, then a KN and a cat/ res delete and some exhaust work may get you the same benefit??

I am still wondering what the real A/F ratios are on this run?? Anyone get a "real read" on that?? Is it PIG Rich or lean and mean?? I don't know?? I know that the goal is to "lean it out a tad" to get some more HP, BUT what were the #s.

Also, why did you get bumped after two flashes??

Bruton Smith’s SMI makeover of Sears Point is how any track ought to be properly managed.
Next time out, I’d suggest having a go on the road circuit.

Yours should be in the ~13.2 @ 108 (1.9x 60’) neighborhood. Good luck.

All due respect, Michael, that “damn torque” is your ticket to go much more quickly.

Even my pedestrian Michelin Pilot Sport A/S’s hooked enough to record 1.9x 60’ times.
Your 102-mph trap speed is a bit bewildering since a stock C32 or C55 will easily do 106+ as delivered.

There’s always next time. :y

it was a great first time. but i know what i need to do differently for next time. oh well. no excuses. it was 90degrees out if that makes a difference. and my tires were about 4 hours old.

the track prep can also be a factor. When I had a tune only (VRP tune only ~10whp) and some slight cooling mods I could barely break into the 13's with a 13.8x or something. Your 60' is where you get your e/t to improve but I could not hook up either, neither could my dad in his C55 with a similar time. Even getting 13.2 as advertised from the factory takes skill as well as ideal conditions

most tracks are set up for slicks so street tires just slip and slide off the line. You can easily get 13's out on the boulevard on a saturday night, but it's hard at the track without drag radials at least. It's just not the right surface for your tires.

that being said, your MPH is very low. It looks like you're losing some HP somewhere. a custom tune that make the car feel peppier on the street doesn't always translate to the track like you'd expect. Dyno conditions are usually very controlled where on the track it's a crap shoot sometimes.

put it this way, i had a passenger and i didn't really grip until 60'. i have a video of me getting sideways the first time i went actually. next time i'll deflate to 18 psi and baby it off the line. i'm not losing hp anywhere, i just suck at launching. i caught up to my friends e46 m3 who ran a 13.7 and i ran a 14.5 but i had a higher trap speed. i just got to get launch down. no big deal. summer is the next time i'll go, i have to focus more on school.

The reading of the a/f was done at the tailpipe. For a wideband usually you have to have a bung 36" after the manifolds.

Might be really interested in that tune. It's just in time for spring!

2.78 60' feet is terrible. Are you smoking the tires or what? Light em up! Seriously, you need a quaife to get the 60'. I Got one on order and with a tune i'm hopin for a 12.9999
We'll see about that! Don't stock c55 can run 13.5 without a problem?

i did not want to ruin my 5 hour old tires so i didn't heat them up or anything. i'll post a pic of the ticket later on tonight unless jake beats me to it

I did horrible my first time out and could only manage a 13.8 or 13.9. All I did was spin my tires. My 60' was my achilles heel. Practice is all it takes...

+1 on that. it sucks that i only had 3 tries to perfect it, but i got better every time. i'll get in the low 13's next time i'm out. this was also my first time actually really getting on it since the flash and new tires so i needed to get used to the power. might i add though, it was fun as hell!

BTW, I heard that Infineon has crappy track prep(hearsay) and that the Sacramento track is now where near as busy, so you can get a lot of runs in....

Maybe we can get a bunch of us to all go up someday??
