29$ for Bluetooth streaming audio add in, ie Pandora

I was disapointed with the stock radio not having the option to Stream Internet radio and or just audio via Bluetooth.

-So I found a Blackberry stereo gateway adapter, this works with any Bluetooth phone/device not just blackberries, it has a 3.5 mm stereo out and is powerd via a USB mini connection that can hold 10 Bluetooth devices (not tested yet).

-I bought it off of ebay for $24 +5 shipping http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=bla...stereo+gateway

-I then pluged in the power outlet in the glove box and via a 6 inch 3.5mm male to 3.5 mm male cable into the Aux connection and then synced my phone to it and Pandora was streaming though my loved C63.

***Yes, you are connecting to 2 bluetooth devices but the hands free is not afected in any way, so when a call comes in or making a call the phone mutes the music and talk though the car handsfree and on hang up it continues the song. I tested it with the Iphone 3g and 4 (holding it correctly ) and with blackberries 9000 and 9700.

Great idea!

Edit: Wait, how the hell do you get your phone to play the audio through the blutooth? And can you send me the info for the person that you bought the device from on ebay? The cheapest one right now is $40 including shipping. Thanks

No static or feedback what so ever even playing it at very high volume, used it for about a week now / 200 miles.

Besides that I have been using this device for about 6 months on my home theater system, its nice to DJ things with the iPad and or iPhone wile sitting on the sofa.

When you setup the bluetooth on your phone, devices show up as a certain "type" so a handsfree comes up as a mono speaker and microphone, this "gateway" comes up as a stereo headset.

The headunit on our c's only comes up as a mono handsfree device (limit of the chipset of the bluetooth installed on our headunit) So the phone will automatically use the stereo gateway to send the sound through when enabling bluetooth out on pandora.

*I did not have to configure anything to set it up to play sound through one and phone through the other ( both on iPhone and BB ) only sync the device to the phone the first time.*

btw, you can adjust this in the phones Bluetooth settings if needed or if you have a ton of bluetooth devices.

Edit: Wait, how the hell do you get your phone to play the audio through the blutooth?

Would this device be able to make my cell phones Telenav by Sprint work through the speakers also?

I have the Ipod option and also have the Aux in option see picture below. If you have the I pod option and no Aux in option then see if you have the cable behind the passenger side dash cover and see if you have the Aux in cable hidding there see my second image and this link https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...aux-input.html and this link ( not a fan of the wiring to the center console though but good pictures ) https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...under-2-a.html

Red = Aux in and Blue = Ipod cable

Great solution for playing Pandora through the C63 speakers with an iPhone! Wish I would have heard of this two days ago- just ordered an extension cable for the iPod adapter to do the same thing but wired. The wireless solution is much more elegant!

i got a Grom Audio adpapter to connect my Blackberry to to the ipod adapter and Pandora plays seemlessly through the speakers. i bought it on ebay for $14. the only problem i had was that initially it would stop after playing one song. After I disabled bluetooth it worked perfectly (not sure why that made a difference but it did)

The Media Interface Plus from your MB parts counter will do all that, plus you can control the phone through your steering wheel buttons. With a software upgrade due in January, Interface Plus will also read SMS and emails off your phone. But it is costly ($300 IIRC).

Does it come with the cables you are using or do I have to buy them elsewhere separately? And if so, where do I get them?

Please, elaborate on the "upgrade" is it for the MB radio? What does it bring or improve? I assume the control of phone as you stated (what types? I phone only, BB's?) via plug in? or Bluetooth? what about stereo media though the Bluetooth ( I was told by MB this was a limit on the Bluetooth chip in the radio)?

it came with RCA to 3.5 male cable and a long 3.5 stereo male to 3.5 stereo male cable*. (I use a 2nd media gateway at home for my receiver with the RCA plugs). **

So I needed for my c63:
-a short 6" 3.5 stereo male to male cable, bought at Radio shack, and
-a usb mini power cable (cell phone power plug seen in the pictures), bought on ebay.

*mine was a Ebay buy and that is what came with it.

**If you buy a OEM Blackberry gate way, it comes with 110 power, RCA and a long 3.5 male to male (not needed for car)

sucks that this isn't available for 09 US-spec cars :/ i'd be all over it

I'm probably going to end up getting the gateway, but I wanna see whats the quality is like using the aux port (I've never used it since the damn thing was hidden), maybe check it out tomorrow. I was reading about how the volume is really low out of it, and that the "audio boost" is some kind of upgrade I need to get? thoughts?

Sorry - haven't checked this thread in a while.

The MIP requires that you have the Multi-Media Interface (which I think most C63's do). For C-class, it is for 2010's and later only.

See this link for vehicle applications and MIP functionality: http://www.mbusa.com/vcm/MB/DigitalA...011-4-2010.pdf

There are rumors that it should also (after a promised software update in January) display and read your text messages and email in the instrument cluster (we will see).

The part number is 212-900-93-05 (MIP) Media Interface Plus, retails for $298.

Can anyone verify if whether or not you have to turn this on (the gateway, not MIP)? Or is it on as soon as it has power? I was reading something it looks like you can put it to sleep and turn it back on, but is it on by default?

Also, how's the sound quality? I got the aux cable all setup just for testing and I'm pretty happy with it. Is the wireless bluetooth at the same level at least?

I have the gateway installed and it turns on automatically. The sound is good too. The cool thing is that it pairs with the gateway and the car and automatically shuts off and turns back on between phone calls. Oh yeah I am using this with my iphone.

Question: does this thing automatically connect to an iPhone? Because my bluBridge that I'm using right now requires me to 1) Turn on the bluBridge and then 2) go to settings and connect to the Bluetooth. It's a pain in the *** and it would be great just to turn on the car and have it connect.

If it is, I'm totally in.

Since I have put it in (5 months now) I have never had to turn on or of the gateway, it powers up with the key (acc on) and the phone connects to it via both blue tooth devices, gateway and hands free. I do not know what you mean by sleep, I never setup anything unboxed and plugged in synced.
