Used Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D 225/40R18 from tirerack with some cheapo rims that they had and had no problems.

Dunlops here too. Car handled the winter fine and we had some
nasty snow storms last winter in the northeast.

Just use common sense when driving.

And by common sense... you mean finding a nice open parking lot and doing donuts and driving like crazy to learn how to handle your car in snow... or at least have fun

I used my C63 through the winter of 2008. Was ok i guess...prefer my ML that i traded in, but if you drive carefully you'll be fine I'm up for a winter with my W211 E63 so i guess it's basically the same thing.
I recommend Nokia tyres. Great for winter use

What's up with TireRack? Tried to find some good cheap 18" wheels for winter and all it comes up with is one wheel in 19" size.

I found some more wheels after selecting a C350 as my vehicle on TireRack.

This one looks interesting and might be a match for my steel gray. Anyone think it won't fit? Seems to have all the right numbers.

http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...All&sort=Brand

Planning to get these with Dunlop Winter Sport 3D in 225/40R18 all round.

Those sparcos might not clear the brakes.

235 is what will fit on the rear OEM wheels. I don't think 225 will work.

Aren't you (and others) running 225s all round on 18x8 rims? I know c63canada is running 18x8 Elbrus all round with 225 Dunlop Winter Sport 3Ds as well.

I really want to make sure, cause it will suck to have to return the rims.

What wheels are you using benyl?

Yes, those are the sizes, but that doesn't mean it will clear the callipers.

They barely fit.

I was actually considering those (the gunmetal variant). Can I ask where you picked yours up? Wouldn't mind those if I could get a decent deal on them. The plus is I know they'll fit (if only barely)!!

Tunerworks here in Calgary got them for me. I am sure there is a vendor in Toronto that can get them for you as well.

When you get them installed, they cannot use thick weights to balance the wheels. They will hit the calipers. You might have to use more 25g weights to get it to work.
