Placebo? No. It is a significant change! A lot more backfire in S+ and Race. When reving it in "N" to 2.500 and lifting the throttle, the car does a lot backfire then - with my factory software from 11/2016, it did not (just as an example).

Don't about you guys in the US but for my car always found it to be a bit jerky during certain shifts or when coming to a stop it happens randomly and I can't replicate it on command. Happens to me sometimes when I'm slowing down and coming to a stop at the lights or when I'm just cruising and gently accelerating
New software installed car feels smoother and yes exhaust sounds a tad louder and a few more pops

I don't know when my car was built but its a 16 model purchased in Nov. of 15. The car has AWE track exhaust so I have always loved the way it sounded anyway. Recently, ( the last few months) I brought the car in for an issue I cant recall what and they did a software update. I noticed after the update the exhaust not only sounded louder but when I upshift in race mode, I get 4 quick pops instead of 2. Is this what you guys are referring too? If so, I love it!! Recently bought a Prius to drive to work (please don't cut my nuts off people) but I think I'm going to start driving her again and park this P.O.S. hybrid.

That's awesome, I've asked my dealership about this and am waiting to hear back. Can't wait!

THIS. Anyone know? Edition 1's (by definition) are very early production dates, so I suspect they didn't come with this software update.
My question is, if one were planning to get an ECU tune, would that tune affect this software update? I'd obviously prefer to do the update first then get the ECU tune, so I don't get my car flagged by MB as modified...

I used to have a Sept 2015 C63S saloon and now a Jan 2017 C63S Coupe and the Coupe absolutely pops and bangs more than the saloon - so ties in with the update logic it seems...

so i got around to calling my dealer- they said there are no recalls for my car a 2015 c63s sedan and said they cant just do a software update. she said bring it in and if the foreman can replicate the issue (jerky shifts...which i have just not all the time) he can recommend further diagnostic. so...this is gonna be annoying lol
